Small icon overhaul! I am now perfectly at peace with having 44 icons instead of 118, which I think is a valuable positive step considering the fact that as of the 18th I will only have...um...however many you have when your paid account runs out. Which I expect is quite a small number. Anyway, I now have a SOKKA/TOPH icon, so it is physically impossible for me to be in a bad mood.

I am on a shameful 'shippy kick in which I kind of want to capslock about Toph/Sokka and Katara/Aang and Mai/Zuko and Azula/kickassitude and any alternate cracky permutations that I might fight amusing at any moment. (Sokka/Mai? Don't hit me, it would be awesome.)

I...actually think my brain wants to come up with amusing crackships because I have NEVER BEFORE been so whole-heartedly behind the canon 'ships that everyone is nearly paired off in my head. It feels like SELLING OUT. BECOMING MAINSTREAM.

But I guess 'mainstream' in Avatar fandom means 'insane and willfully obtuse', so...maybe not?

(I WANT FUTUREFIC WHERE EVERYONE IS GROWN UP AND GETTING MARRIED AND HAVING SPATS AND SEX AND OH-HEY-WE'RE-RUNNING-THE-WORLD STRESS.

I wonder who I could pay to write me Toph-POV smut. Because I think it would be AWESOME.)

Hahahaha. I feel the same way about this canon! BUT In Avatar fandom it is indeed shipping CANON as opposed to crackships that is rare! So I shun most crackships just out of CONTRARINESS, HONESTLY. Well, also a lot of them are just dumb! And then Avatar fandom is seemingly incapable of writing crackships in a way that embraces and thus MAKES ENTERTAINMENT out of their crackiness since they inexplicably try to make everything EPIC DESTINED SOULMATES/GRAND FRAUGHT LOVE STORIES while...ignoring the ones in the canon?!?!?!

(I ALWAYS WANT THIS. ALWAAAAYS. EVERY MOMENT OF MY LIFE. BUT IT NEVER EXISTS IN NON-COMPLETELY NONSENSICAL FORM, SADLY.

If you ever figure out who to pay to write that or the above...LET ME KNOW. I WILL GO IN HALFSIES WITH YOU.)

I guess I cannot talk, as I took a cracky anime series and wrote dead serious futurefic involving a five-person relationship. Crack, in my hands, always starts to grow distressing amounts of plausibility.

(I KNOW I WILL HAVE TO WRITE IT ONE DAY BUT I AM TRYING TO AT LEAST HOLD OUT UNTIL THE SERIES IS FINISHED.

Surely someone, somewhere, is a) capable of writing porn, and b) aware of just how cool it would be from the POV of someone whose senses are so heightened. I'm afraid I only qualify for the latter.)

If it was growing PLAUSIBILITY I would not have a problem. I am pretty much universally a fan of crack seriously worked into realism. In Avatar fandom, however, it just rolls along with its natural lack of plausibility and then just ignores that AND THUS BECOMES LAME AND VANILLA AND IMPLAUSIBLE ALL AT ONCE?!

Avafandom is special. That and it has a distressing tendency of not realizing that things are crack.

I AM AFRAID THE ONLY HILARIOUSLY LONG FICS I HAVE ON THE GO RIGHT NOW ARE THE BONES ONES. HELAS. Although I have a bewilderingly long Good Omens fic that I sometimes poke in my occasional fits of optimism that it will ever be finished.

Rawles! I have been staring at your icons a lot, as I like to do kind of regularly in order to covet your many & shiny Avatar icons, and I didn't even...realise...or remember...that you like Ouran! Which means you probably read my long not-as-cracky-as-it-should-really-have-been fic. WHAT DID YOU THINK?

I've only occasionally watched Avatar, but this post has made me really want to read some Sokka/Toph.

How...strange. Any suggestions?

I don't really follow the fandom, so I don't know, I've never read any!
