Note to self: next year, write it earlier, you damn fool.

That was frigging nerve-wracking. Thank you, everyone who listened to me declare dramatically that I was going to commit sepukku/go insane/quit fandom forever.

Now I'm going to make a pot of tea and watch episodes until my brain melts. YES. HOLIDAY SPIRIT, HERE I COME.

PS - I picked up my mortarboard from uni today. omg. MORTARBOARD!!! I can't believe I am graduating on Friday, I am waiting for someone to walk up to me and explain that it's all just a big misunderstanding.

do you actually get to KEEP your silly flat hat? NO FAIR!

No, I decided just to hire the hat. Most people hired everything, but I bought my gown and hood. But ANU is SUPER-ORGANISED and also didn't want to transport everything out to the AIS Arena (damn the Llewellyn Hall on campus for still being renovated) so everyone had to pick up their hired gear today.

You bought the gown and hood but NOT the hat? FAHYE, YOU ARE SO OPPOSITE TO THE WORLD.

But I will need the first two next year! For weekly formal dinners at college. The hat is only for graduation DAY.

...medical school is going to make you WEIRD. (every WEEK?)

Haaaaaa this doesn't even have anything to do with medical school, it's just the res college.

(That said, medical school may very well make me weird.)

[identity profile] baggers.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
That's totally weird. I wonder if postgrads get up to that sort of nonsense at my college.

You'd probably have noticed. The Women's College website has enthusiastic wanky photographs of the ENTIRE STUDENT AND STAFF BODY dressed up in academic gowns every Monday night.

[identity profile] baggers.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, postgrad is waaaaaaaaaay over yonder. The only place I ever see postgrads is at the pub.

THAT IS SO DORKY.

I KNOW RIGHT? Luckily I am kind of an elitist academic dork myself.

BTW, I spent a futile and very unwise half-hour yesterday looking up all of the delicious medical and forensic anthropology courses that my university offers and that I COULD HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF had I started watching Bones two years ago. Sigh.

[identity profile] baggers.livejournal.com 2007-12-19 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I KNOW. i'm like "it's totally okay to want to move to canberra and do two more years of school because tv made it look cool!"

and then i'm all "and besides that, it is TOTALLY a natural extension of what i am doing. I CAN ACTUALLY JUSTIFY THIS RATIONALLY!"

and then i cry, because there are not enough years in a lifetime.

At the moment I'm like, I COULD STILL BECOME A FORENSIC PATHOLOGIST LIKE CAM, YAY, and then I have to remind myself that I hate microscopes. Fail.

You! Read! This book here. (http://www.amazon.com/Deaths-Acre-Jon-Jefferson/dp/0751534463/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1198066540&sr=8-3)
