requisite OotP film reaction

I wasn't going to post about OotP because I've been living in a state of near-complete apathy about the whole HP thing for years now and...eh. Since seeing the film I am slightly more excited about the last book, but slightly is still not a whole lot.

- Daniel Radcliffe has really matured in every possible way. I was very impressed by him. Harry, Luna and Sirius kind of owned this entire movie, especially Sirius' velvet pimp coat of AWESOME* and his post-Animagus shaggy-dog robe. Oh, Sirius. They really set up the Harry-Sirius relationship for maximum emotional impact, didn't they? And - "Nice one, James!" - AUGH. AUGH. Nothing else could really drive home that this isn't a children's story any more. Someone throw me some cheerful Marauder-era fic, please.

- Tonks & Bellatrix also FTW! Though there was NOT ENOUGH TONKS and NOT ENOUGH REMUS.

- UM HELLO WEASLEY TWINS. PHWOAR. THANK YOU FOR GETTING HAIRCUTS. *fans self*

- I was having designgasms as soon as they set foot in the Ministry of Magic. (Though [livejournal.com profile] liminalliz is right: they could have made their OWN music rather than just snitching the introduction to 'One Day More' from Les Mis and changing a few notes.)

- Basically I am very impressed by the fact that this was my favourite of all the films considering I was close to flat-out dislike for the OotP book. I think it was the pacing of the film that saved it; the fact that it had to be condensed and fast and flashy.

Thank goodness for DanRad. He's a sensible guy. He's making SENSE out of CAPSLOCK HARRY.
