I am an officer of the law
Courtesy of it being my father's 50th birthday, I am sitting at my computer sipping a glass of 1991 Grange. You wish you were me.
Actually, this post is an effort to put off watching the next few episodes of SPN, which all have names like 'Skin' and 'Bugs'. Simple four-letter nouns should not be able to sound that creepy.
I am starting to see where fandom is coming from with this whole Wincest thing. Not that I'm planning on writing it any time soon, or chanting SNOG SNOG SNOG at the screen, but I know how fandom works.
Creators: WHAT. WHERE DID YOU GET THIS DISGUSTING IDEA, BELOVED TARGET AUDIENCE?
Fandom: Uh, you gave us a show where the only two characters who are around long enough to have decent personalities/interactions are two hot guys who like to touch each other a lot and save each other's lives. WHAT, EXACTLY, DID YOU THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN HERE?
ETA: ...yeah, I knew this was a bad idea. My reaction to bugs generally involves shrieking "KILL IT WITH YOUR SHOE!" and then becoming excessively violent. The only things preventing me from turning this episode off are the facts that there are blatant gay jokes happening and Dean just appeared with a towel on his head.

1. Write hugely successful TV series/book series with slashy subtext.
2. Read the hundreds of fics. Giggle.
3. Write own fanfics under a sockpuppet account. Become BNF.
4. Start massive flamewars every second month.
5. Giggle at resulting fallout.
6. Write another hugely successful TV series/book series with EVEN SLASHIER subtext.
7. CONVENTIONS.

... there is more to me that petty small-minded vengefulness, you know. It's "porn", mostly.

CONVENTIONS! Oh man. What I wouldn't give for the opportunity to be a feature of a convention. EVEN A MINOR FEATURE.

Like, say, crossdressing hooker fic. Or boyband AUs. XD

Because seriously, Jack has OBVIOUSLY done this at some point. Oh, he'll claim that it was some undercover thing for the Time Agency, that he had to do it in Lahore because he couldn't find any other way of making money without drawing the wrong kind of attention to himself, but we all know that he did it because he liked it.

Which is one of the reasons I think a really good recurring female character on the show might be a good thing, to mix it up a little and have it not just be the boys, but would also probably feel kind of shoehorned in and obvious in that way. Sigh.

Given how fandom reacted to Jo...it'd be hard. But with agreement with you in thinking that it'd be a good thing.

I do really like the fact that the show gives us such a strong vibe between two guys rather than a male and female partners who - considering the type of work they do and the emotions it elicits - would be kind of DOOMED to a romantic relationship sooner or later. But...yeah. It's quite telling that you could substitute 'shagging' for 'brothers' anywhere in the equation and it would make just as much sense.
Oh fandom. You're so predictable sometimes.
I need more SPN icons stat.

Meanwhile, :D Jo and I are having a writing night and there is vodka! I haven't touched it yet which is why I can still type. XD

(Man, are we the most pathetically upper-middle-class girls in the world or what?)
OH. Remind me when your 21st is? I'm starting to plan my own.

Right now we are talking about having a writing day/night whatever while I'm in Japan. "QUICK! TO UENO PARK, I NEED TO CHECK GEOGRAPHY!"

I don't ship Wincest (mostly because I just don't enjoy incest at all, even when it's fictional), but I have to say I can kind of see where the fangirls are coming from. I'd like for there to be more female characters on the show, but as someone else mentioned above, Jo got such a shitty response from fandom that I wonder if it'll ever actually happen. (And this from a girl who actually really liked Jo.)

Bugs is an ep that I still go, "OMG. I can't believe I watched that."
Skin = le creepy.
Wait until Asylum.

I am the EVIL SPOILER OVERLORD.
Back on 'Bugs', the only redeemable part was Dean and Sam pretending to be gay. The two minute night, the bug-spray flamethrower.
Not one of the eps that make me proud of my show.
