I'd forgotten the downside to leaving lab reports until the day before, especially when said day is a public holiday: when you realise that your results are so hilariously fucked that you can't analyse the viral titre by choosing an absorbance value within the linear section of each graph because those sections don't overlap, your only hope is frantic emails to the lecturer's uni email address, which, if it's a public holiday, she won't be checking.

Looks like it's time for some real, quality, desperate bullshitting.

I have bad memories of that, I had the bitchiest prac partner in the world. She then piked on me half way through the prac and joined her friend's group. Cue me aspirating/pipetting etc. about a million assay plates thingy by myself.
My advice:
I wouldn't worry. It sounds like good results discussion material. Just give the results and give possible reasons as to why it didn't work. Then I guess you can explain what results should have looked like. Better than that you can get in contact with someone who DOES have good results and use them instead. You can check the WebCT message boards for help with the latter (or other people who are having problems asking they same things). Try one of the tutors rather than the lecturers, they tend to have more time on their hands.
Hope that helps. Good luck! :)

It's only worth 5%, but I still have to DO it.

You're unlucky. I had a good demonstrator for that subject....she was kinda cute too!
Is the lecturer still that woman...buggered if I remember her name...I think it started with an "A", with long brown hair and glasses?
Anyway I think your strategy will be fine. Just be thorough with you discussion and you'll be fine. Use lots of references. Hell you're better at this crap than I am you'll be fine!
