.....

So I've found out why nobody outside of my ficblog's existing readers commented on my Atlantis fic! Apparently [livejournal.com profile] atlantisfic's mods read your fic and then tag it for you - something that I think is really neat and helpful, in theory, but dude. Do these people ever love their tags.

angst, atlantis (sentient), character study, death fic, drama, het, implied het, implied non-con, mckay angst, pov, ronon/teyla, sheppard, sheppard angst, sheppard/atlantis, sheppard/weir, sheppard/weir angst, weir, weir angst

I mean. I would think twice before reading that fic.

(Non-con? Seriously, they found NON-CON in there? And DEATH? I mean...if you squint...)

Anyway, Claira is going out with a friend and I have one day to finish my Remix fic, so I'll be sitting here working furiously and sulking about the fact that there is, in the end, no way to make someone read your fic.

*cracks knuckles*

Encouragement/distraction in the form of comments would be much appreciated.

I would love that!

And of course now I want twins. Hmm. Five times Jessica is worried about her grandchildren.

[identity profile] bantha-fodder.livejournal.com 2007-04-13 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
five times jessica is worried about her grandchildren

1. "paul is gone," gurney says, something she has known for twenty years. "he has gone out to the desert. but his children remain." jessica leans forward. "children?" she asks. "leto," he says, "and ghanima, and none but irulan to look after them." "and alia," she says, half to herself, and is afraid.

2. the twins visit caladan for the first time when they are five. "oh, grandmother," ghanima says, "how i long to feel the spray of the surf upon my face." they run through the palace, and she falls behind; she looks for them on the cameras, but they only appear in fleeting glimpses, as if they know which corridors to avoid to stay out of her gaze. she finds them eventually, on the beach favoured by her son, rolling in the sand. "oh, paul," she says, aloud; wonders what he has done.

3. "you see what i must put up with, mother, to be surrounded by such fools?" jessica looks at her daughter; sees the red behind her eyes and familiarity of her tone. when she turns her head and meets leto's eyes, he nods at her and ushers his sister away.

4. ghanima stands there in the fremen wedding garb, spoil of no war but the one she has chosen to fight, her crysknife loosely tucked into her belt. beside her, leto roars, and the sound of the worms echoes through the chamber.

5. she looks for her grandchildren; finds them in the throne room, leto's head pillowed by ghanima's thigh. "do you remember the water?" ghanima asks softly. "of course i do, sister," leto replies, though ghanima could be talking of any water, of any world. ghanima leans down, kisses her brother's forehead, shuts her eyes. "tell me of the waters of your homeland," she says, in a whisper, and jessica's stomach drops.

she knows the truth of it, but she pushes the suspicion down to where there is no abomination, no fear.

she breathes out; is bene gesserit.

there is no fear.

TWINS!

You are splendiferous, Pen. This is just what I wanted.

Yay! (and now I'm going to post it in my own lj)

*cheers you on*

I have not yet read, I don't think, but only because it is The Week. Not that the weekend will be much better, but meh. At least it is not on the clock.

Do the mods from that community tag ALL the fics that forcefully? Whoa. I'm afraid already.

What canon is your remix? Are you allowed to say?

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-13 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know! I really think they gave mine ten times as many as most of the others, but that could be because I didn't really give any indication in the information *I* provided. But there was a REASON for that. I'm very pissed off because the tagging completely SPOILS the fic. You're not meant to know that the city is a sentient character until the idea is introduced. You're not meant to know the pairings going in.

*grumbles*

Nope, no telling! :D Remix is all hush-hush.

[identity profile] unravels.livejournal.com 2007-04-13 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they were too flaily after reading it and hit all the little tag buttons by mistake. Because that is a LOT. Is there any way to contact them and ask that the tags be changed to 'spoiler' or something? Yes, it sounds very useful, but ouch. Or you could change them yourself! Like a ninja! Of the internet!

OMG I need food. *sigh*

[personal profile] sophistry 2007-04-13 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
*sagely* You should download Rome (which I am currently uploading), watch it, and write fic for it. That would make me read it. I'm serious. I would have no choice in the matter.

(I physically get a sense of there-is-something-so-wrong-with-the-world when I think about the fact that you, Fahye, have not been introduced to the 80%-entrancingly-sociopathic, 10%-adorimable, 10%-OH-GOD-MY-POOR-BABY, 100%-chillingly-intelligent-and-hot Octavian that is Max Pirkis and his grown-up successor. Just. SOULMATES, YOU AND HE.)

I REALLY WANT TO WATCH ROME. Just. Um. This winter! Yes, this winter I will have time.

(...you're right, I love him already.)

[identity profile] peanutbutterer.livejournal.com 2007-04-13 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I've sent a few your way, as the fic is deserving of readers... but you should post it at [community profile] lostcityfound and even [profile] john_elizabeth for a wider audience. (LCF lets you tag your own.)

Ah, thank you! I don't know much about the fandom at all, at the moment, so it's good to be told these things :)
