Suspension of hiatus v2.0

I am at uni doing the world's most disorganised, complex, annoying prac report on microbiota of the nose and throat, and I am in all seriousness going to put my fist through this lovely white iMacThingWhatever unless I concurrently distract myself on LJ. Hi. SPAM PLZ.

No New Who for me until the end of the week. But I am so excited about Martha! The sheer potential for anatomy and medical references in canon and fic ALONE is throwing me into giddy geeky glee.

Speaking of, I wrote [livejournal.com profile] liminalliz an early birthday fic (it's a House AU) which, well, I am a little alarmed at the soullessness of my own writing lately. My Remix assignment is going to have SOUL and EMOTIONS. It is, dammit. It is.

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Your fic was AWESOME. I have an actual review half-finished in an unclicked comment box.

*SPAMNATION!!!*
ext_21673: ([house] we are so very very pretty)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
REVIEW FOR ME?? I was kind of resigned to it being That Fic That Nobody But Lizzen And I Care About. Awesome.

I shall now resume my constant nagging of you to produce BSG fannish goods of pretty much any denomination. Fiiic. Icoooons. *wiggles fingers*

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
I have found that I will read anything for a pairing I don't like if a) I love both characters, and b) said fic is awesomely dark and creepy. So of course I read yours! Bring on the soulless, baby.

I have another scene for the Pilots Fic That Will Not End, just in a notebook instead of typed. It was a clever ploy to lure you out of hiatus, but boredom got there first!

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
How close is the PFTWNE to being finished? DOES IT HAVE AN EXCITINGLY PRETENTIOUS TITLE?

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
1) THEY KEEP REFUSING TO HAVE SEX AND THEN SPIRAL INTO ANGST BECAUSE OF SOME WACKO CONCEPT OF "RENEWING THEIR FRIENDSHIP". In summation: at least four more scenes to go.

2) The Chandrasekhar Limit. (Yes!)
ext_21673: ([bsg] pilotlove > everything)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
1) Yeah, well, that's pilots for you. Sex? MAYBE. MAYBE. WE NEED TO ANGST SOME FIRST. AND THEN ANGST SOME AFTERWARDS.

2) HAHAHA. Oh, Kelsey. Us and our titles. Explain it to me!

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Like all works of great literature, it starts with a QUOTE FROM WIKIPEDIA: A second possible, but much less likely, mechanism for triggering a Type Ia supernova is the merger of two white dwarfs. In such a case, the total mass would not be constrained by the Chandrasekhar limit.

It's all very deep and symbolic!
ext_21673: ([comics] no moshing in the pulpit)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
IT MAY BE TOO DEEP FOR ME.

[identity profile] pirateygoodness.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
GLITTER!

. . .also, I am trying to write multiple-choice questions based on a first-year psych textbook, and I keep wanting to throw up my hands and go, "This stuff is too fluffy and superficial to be asked about on an exam. MORE SCIENCE, PLZ."

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
WOOOOORLDS COLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE

ext_21673: ([science] DO NOT QUESTION ME)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
First-year psych can be like that. Though my uni is MILITANT about treating psychology as a science, so it was enormously keen on drumming statistics and controlled experimental design and critical analysis of evidence into us. FLUFFINESS IS FOR ARTS STUDENTS seemed to be the general gist.
ext_21673: ([avatar] gratuitous daddy issues)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
But I have four seasons of The West Wing and one of SG:A and one of Avatar to get through!

[identity profile] pirateygoodness.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
See, my uni is very much about keeping it a science, so it's not that, necessarily.

It's just that, like, there will be a chapter on anxiety disorders, and the entirety of the content will be that sometimes, people get panic attacks. THEY FORGOT ALL THE COOL STUFF. Basically, psychology should have more neurons in it. *nods*

Oh, yes, Heroes. I am getting that from a friend to watch as well. WHAT THE HELL, there never used to be any good television shows!
ext_21673: ([tw] tosh - half full of liquid enigma)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
psychology should have more neurons in it

EXACTLY. Which is why I left social psych behind in the dust and am now taking behavioural neuroscience and advanced cellular neuroscience. ALL NEURONS, ALl THE TIME.

Oh, btw, what's your timeframe for getting into medicine? You sat the MCAT - when do you apply? Are there interviews? And when would you find out if you have a place?

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:37 am (UTC)(link)

On the other hand, finding good books is getting a bit difficult. :/ Well, it's more finding the mental energy to read them...
ext_21673: ([larklight] hold it just a moment)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
LARKLIGHT. READ LARKLIGHT. It takes very little energy because it is so much fun and so filled with sheer awesome that it just powers you along effortlessly.

[identity profile] pirateygoodness.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
See, YES. Neurons, man. THEY MAKE MY BRAIN DO STUFF.

Mmm, I'm taking a year off, so I don't apply until September. Then interviews/acceptance would happen roughly this time next year, depending on schools.
ext_21673: ([avatar] papa love your princess)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I am taking a year off only if I don't get into medicine this year. I'd kind of LIKE the year off either way, but Sydney Uni doesn't let you defer your place, so WHAT IF I FAIL TO GET IN AGAIN NEXT YEAR? *panic, panic, etc.*

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
HOKAY SOUNDS GOOD.

BTW, how far along are you in Avatar? :D

[identity profile] pirateygoodness.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's what a lot of the people I'm graduating with are doing right now. I don't know - I kind of like that I'll have the year off. . .although I don't know what I'm going to do with it if the English-teaching falls through, but. I'm young and know stuff about brains. I'm sure something will materialize.

I do know the anxious, though. My MCAT scores are only good for three years, so I'm all, MUST APPLY, BECAUSE WHAT IF THEY EXPIRE AND I SIT AGAIN AND SOMEHOW GOT DUMBER. As you do.

[identity profile] unravels.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
*spamz!*

Except ooh, House. I am distracted. I made a picspam if you're REALLY desperate, but it's pictures of... the copy machine, etc. An ordinary day. *yawn*

[identity profile] liminalliz.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
HEY, I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOUR SOULLESS FIC TOO. MASSIVELY. WITH GREAT EMOTION AND SOUL DO I LOVE IT. (mmmm merciless couple of CRAZYPANTS in the sky drinking champagne, *doodles hearts*)

[identity profile] emmlet.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
a) I totally owe you an OOM set-up, but I am adrift in a sea of wedding deadlines and the start of my 20-credit quarter. It's coming! One day! I am just sucking at RP right now.

b) This (http://xkcd.com/c242.html) made me think of you.

ext_21673: ([rp] lucifer/grace SHUT UP ALL OF YOU)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Never fear! I am not really RPing right now either.

[identity profile] liminalliz.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, now that I think of it, it would really fit s4!Wesley and Fred. He did, after all, have a woman chained up and locked in his closet that season. He could kidnap her away from the impending apocalypse and go be crazy mercenaries in Brazil, betting on the apocalypse to go through (and then be sucked in by Jasmine as she takes over the world and and and OMG SWEEET).

Also, I would like a dark Buffy with Spike. BECAUSE YEAH.

who else who else

*goes through list of telly*
- Sylar and Claire from Heroes; oooh twisted.
- Juliet and Jack from Lost; OH WAIT. THAT'S KINDA SORTA CANON.
- And I live liiiive liiiiiiiiiiiiive for Dark!Superman - and he could carry it off with any lucky lady.

mmmm champagne and morally suspect ppl.

[identity profile] emmlet.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Then perhaps our not-really-RPing arcs will... interarc sometime.

That sentence contains all real words, I swear.

Okay well the only one of those I would actually understand would be Spike-Buffy but YES SURE AWESOME.

Actually, Faith-Buffy could be EVEN BETTER. CRAZY PLOT DEVICE...WITH LESBIANS!
