BSG 3x18 - The Son Also Rises

1) BADGER. BADGER WITH UNNECESSARY INDOOR SUNGLASSES. BADGER STEALING SHIT FROM EVERYONE. BADGER PLAYING LEE & CAPRICA SIX & EVERYONE LIKE A PRO. OMG. Marry me, Badger.

2) The writing, holy cow. Somehow the script quality just jumped by a million points.

3) Basically this was like COLONIAL DAY (THE HORRIFIC ANGST REMIX) what with politics and assassinations and press conferences and Lee being dumbstruck with love, and Colonial Day is my favourite thing in the history of television, so.

4) "It's like they have feet." OH ROSLIN. ROSLIN. <3333

5) Racetrack!

6) The sheer ugliness of the grief. Sam's drunkenness and Lee's obvious inability to cope with anything and Adama's fury.

7) BSG clearly decided that the only thing they could throw the fans to fill the space left by Starbuck's departure would be ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF SLASHY SUBTEXT. I am not complaining about this.

I am sure I could think of more but I am late for a lecture.

Hee! Ditto on all that you just said! Lee and Adama were great in their "my pain is greater than yours" argument and Sam and Lee's "if you can't be with the woman you love, be with that other guy that loves her" and Romo Lamkin is such an expert manipulator that I can't wait to see how much he screws things up! I can't wait for the last two eps of the season to see where things go.

ROMO = BONO?

*cracks up*

Now that I think about it...

Totally. To all of this. Because I don't have time to write up an ep reaction of my own.

Also? You forgot CUTE KITTY. BADGER WITH CUTE KITTY.

Animals don't really register, for me. Although it did make him look amusingly like a potential SUPERVILLAIN.

Mostly, I was entertained because hi, he had a cat in a bag. Somewhere, there is an idiom just WAITING to be punned on. S'all I'm saying.

(Also, DUDE. YES. And I'm NOT SAYING he could totally take Inspector Gadget, but. He could.)

That is a good point! I wonder if he also has a FIGURATIVE cat to take out of a bag. BSG had better realise that they are on to a winner with this character and pull a Trucco and get him to stick around.

What I suddenly want more than anything else if for Lamkin and Leoben to appear in the same scene. For any reason whatsoever. Just. Think about how cool that would be.

3) Basically this was like COLONIAL DAY (THE HORRIFIC ANGST REMIX) what with politics and assassinations and press conferences and Lee being dumbstruck with love, ...

Oh YES. Also what with the hands preparing the gun / making the bomb.

6) The sheer ugliness of the grief. Sam's drunkenness and Lee's obvious inability to cope with anything and Adama's fury.

My favourite parts. Totally how Sam and Lee kind of end up gravitating to each other, and Adama/Lee with the yelling and the 'get your shit together' and the 'you have no frakking idea', etc... AWESOME

Yeah, it was that shot of the hands on the bomb that first woke me up to the similarities.

WAH ADAMAS. They were both so convinced that their loss was worse, and you can't blame them. Lee's just lost the woman he loved more than anything, but, you know, he kind of HAS A WIFE. (This is the basis of the fic I am writing right now. The fair player in me is kind of worried and indignant of Dee's behalf, even as the pilotshipper in me is going CRAZY with angst.)
