I am going to make tea and crawl into bed with a Stoppard play, but first: Ji has unearthed for me a wonder. One of my favourite bands covering one of my favourite songs by another of my favourite bands!

The Killers - Romeo & Juliet (Dire Straits cover)

My immense and undying love for Dire Straits is one of those things that I just assume people know about me. I think I shall put Sultans of Swing on repeat while I am reading. If you don't know their music...um...tell me, and I will wave my hands disapprovingly and then do a proper post about them.

ETA: Right. Gomez is playing at the ANU Bar in a couple of weeks. Is anyone a fan? Would anyone like to give me any of their music? I have one song of theirs, and really like it, but would prefer to sample more before I pay $50 for a ticket.

I like them a lot! Which song do you have? I can send you Sweet Virginia and Waster, both of which I'm fond of, or others.

I dunno if their concerts would be much fun ... it's a lot of meandering guitar, I can see it being a bit of a stoner lighter indie experience as opposed to rocking hard.
