What do I do with my day off from retail work? I go shopping. Of course.

Net gains:

- Songs From Black Mountain, the new Live album (which I didn't even know was OUT because I am a LOON and they are my FAVOURITE BAND wtf)
- Sam's Town, the new Killers album
- Promethea volume 5, which is finally out in paperback
- the new Neil Gaiman short story collection, Fragile Things (ditto re: not even knowing it was out!)
- a tie for my brother for Christmas

I narrowly escaped spending $99 on an iBass speaker dock for the sole reason that they were completely out of stock in Woden and I couldn't be arsed busing back to Civic to get one from the Dick Smith branch there.

That was kind of draining. I think I need to go lie down and stroke my wordly goods now.

Well, I'm sure the Australian civil war of 2008 will need medics, so you'll be assured of regular rations. (Seriously, the paper here said a forty per cent increase in flour prices.)

I don't buy flour ever so I probably wouldn't notice. Bananas are three times as expensive at the moment, though.

Fragile Things is so good. I especially love the first one, and one of us should mention to Imry that it includes a short story set in the Matrix universe.

...There's a new Killers album? :O

I put the available Promethea that I don't own on my wish list for Christmas. I have 1-3, but I'm afraid to finish them because once I pick it up I can not stop unless someone makes me, and coming to the end of #3 or #5 without anywhere to go will be too awful to do on purpose. I should seek help.
