I may live to regret this, but I felt it was time I took part in a fandom tradition of this sort.

(I was especially alarmed at the way the signup email cheerfully gives you all of the characters you've said you'll write as 'ship permutations. I am not ALTOGETHER CONFIDENT in my ability to write Valentine/unValentine, you know? Oh well.)

So, who else has signed up?

In a rush of guilt over not having written anything since March, I am going to say:

You have 100 words to talk me into it.

Go!

!!!! I think it’s perfect for you because:

a) you can request really, really obscure fandoms
b) you like writing in obscure fandoms, and there are SO MANY on the list
c) the minimum word length is only 1000 words
d) we can co-beta each other
e) Joyeux Noel is on the list

That is only, like, 53 words. I win at concise persuasion. FURTHERMORE, um, you get something written just for you and you know you love that.

I spent about an hour just staring at the fandom list going how would anyone write for that, how, how?

Yuletide is the one thing I always sign up for, every year, without fail.

Except The Cutting Edge isn't available! And that makes me sad.

HIIIIIIII

Yeah. I have apparently signed up to write Laura Palmer/Pete Martell/The Log Lady/Windom Earle. Among other things. I am not so much with the liking of that form. *eyes it*

HI SWEENEY

I am wondering if it was precisely wise to say I'd write anything for Torchwood, because from what I've seen of the fandom so far I'm going to be getting a request for hot man sexx0rs with creative use of alien technology and a voyeuristic pterodactyl. (Actually, pterodactyl = canon. I love this show.)

Until then, however, I am going to sit in the corner with my delighted flailing about Doctor Who and my crossover idea based solely on a casting coincidence. Except it might not be a coincidence. DAMN YOU, RUSSELL T. DAVIES.

I am looking forward to your opinion! I had all sorts of thinky things to say about the pilot double ep and then I forgot to post them and they all dribbled out my ears. The only intelligent commentary I have now pertains to the third episode. And some stuff about the significance of the sets and the use of Gwen's character archetype to facilitate suspension of disbelief, because Caleb and I were talking about it.

...I have exams. In five days. I should not be watching anything, but I AM WEAK.

Oh, that's lovely! I've signed up too! But I can't tell you which fandoms I'm for, as that's a state secret and would be treasonous to reveal. (I get the sense they're serious about this stuff.)
