TEALESS

Okay. One more paragraph on the life cycle of the malaria parasite to go and then I will have done 2/3 of the assignments due this Friday. Granted, they're the two 10% ones and the one remaining is worth 40%, but...2/3 is a nice ratio. And I now have a day and a half to get the lab report for Visual & Cognitive Neuroscience done.

(Last minute? What? Me? In my defense, we only finalised the data yesterday.)

All of this pales into insignificance, however, next to the fact that I awoke to find a BROKEN KETTLE. OUR ELECTRIC KETTLE. IS BROKEN.

THIS = NO TEA. TRAUMA. THUS THE HILARIOUSLY TASTELESS ICON. (S'great for perspective, though, isn't it? I have no tea, but at least I haven't been DALEK-ZAPPED.)

I have just returned from a sulky trip to the shops for lunch, which is going to be Vietnamese rice paper rolls with hoi sin, and a takeaway flat white. The flat white is surprisingly good for one made by a milkbar/pizza place. Good and strong. HELLO, COFFEE.

...NO...TEA?? *flails*

Can you get another one? They seem to be fairly inexpensive and readily available in tea-friendly countries, unlike this heathen wasteland America, where you're lucky if you can find one online to order. Though I have seen them popping up occasionally in large appliance stores. Still.

2/3 is totally accurate. Ahem.

Oh, yeah, I can drive to the nearest shopping centre and pick one up for $30 :) Just...I'm busy as all getout and housemate is sick. Heating water on the stove it is. (Also, I'm downing Coke Zero to keep myself awake :D)

Wait, you don't HAVE kettles?

...how do you get boiling water? o_O

Well, I have maybe half of the final one done. Which is nice. Am debating whether or not to skip my two lectures tomorrow morning and just work until the damn thing is done.
