MORE TV babble

My assignment is now 500 words too long and I can't make it shorter and all 3500 words of it sucks bollocks anyway.

(I know, I know, you're all thinking: her life is SO INTERESTING. PLEASE, LET HER WHINGE MORE ABOUT HER ASSIGNMENTS AND SPAZZ MORE ABOUT RANDOM TELEVISION SHOWS.)

You're in luck.

I really think they tried to shove a BIT too much What I Did Last Summer into it, but whatever, we have psychotic jackass Logan back again and this pleases me beyond words. I was pretty sure, as soon as it WAS Logan that turned up at the door, that Veronica's much-touted boyfriend was going to turn out to be Duncan. Which kdsdsabasUGH WHY. For the most part I find Duncan incredibly boring unless he is bouncing off Logan and it makes me sad that their friendship is broken, because LoganandDuncan was so much more interesting that LoganandrandomCasablancas. (Go drive off a cliff, Dick. Please.) And Duncan is just NOT PRETTY AT ALL and DULL and why must the tiny blonde supergirls always go for the dull reliable men? YEAH, I'M LOOKING AT YOU, RILEY FINN.

Oh well. As long as Logan is still around and he and Veronica still have some measure of UST, which they do, I'll just take it as it comes. I'm not really OTPing, just wishing that Duncan was a better character. (On the plus side: potential for more infideliciousness! No, be quiet, don't spoil my hopes.)

Then again, I simply cannot make up my mind as to whether I find Logan attractive or not. Sometimes I really, really do, and sometimes I really, really don't. He also looks creepily like [livejournal.com profile] dopplegl in some shots.

ALSO HAHAH CORDELIA. HE'S SLEEPING WITH CORDELIA. HOW FANTASTIC.

I am glad that Weevil is as Weevilesque as ever.

I am glad (albeit confused) that Lilly's ghost is still kicking around.

I am sad that Meg is dead, but this is mostly because she was very pretty and I am very shallow.

Um. No...really...deep...reactions. The position of journalism teacher appears to be kind of the VMars equivalent of the DADA position.

Still not king no VMars icons.

ETA, half a minute into 2x02 - Oh, not dead? Okay then! I suppose it's too much to hope for that she looks unrealistically pretty whilst in her coma.

I have the unhappy fortune of being a Veronica Mars fan who cares very little (dare I say not at all?) for Logan and the Logan/Veronica relationship. So...yeah. VM fandom is really fun for me. And, well, I kinda love Donut.

I'm not going near fandom, I don't think. I don't have any driving urge to read fic or watch fanvids or seek out other people's meta. I'm happy to just watch, blather about my reactions, and discuss with my friends.

SO. MISS CARRIE. *adjusts microphone*

What is it you love about Duncan? Occasionally he gets a funny line or does something cool (like when he got faux-drunk on iced tea) but for the most part I find him distressingly uninteresting.

I have to have reasons? Reason has no place in fandom!

Seriously, though, I don't know what it is I like about him. He's not my favorite (hiiii, Weevil). But, at least in S1, he always struck me as a really, really good guy. A guy with major issues, sure. Crazy, certainly. (I found the Duncan-is-craaaazy moments the most fascinating, actually.) And we didn't know what the hell was up with the whole dumping Veronica thing until "A Trip to the Dentist". But it was kind of siding with V on this one - obviously she still cared about him, so I did too. If that makes any sense. I'm not about to defend Teddy Dunn's acting chops, because...well I'm not blind, am I? But I actually think the premise for Duncan's character was interesting, and I don't know that they fleshed him out as much as they could have.

It probably also helps that I am not physically repulsed by TD as many VM fans seem to be. Seriously, you should see the wank that occurs when Kristen Bell even hints that she prefers Veronica/Duncan over V/Logan.

I must admit, early S2 Duncan is growing on me. I can see he'd make a nice boyfriend, he just doesn't make quite as entertaining TV :D Duncan-is-craaaaazy was pretty damn good, but I admit I have a real thing for the subtler, constant, Logan-is-omg-disturbed.

Ugh, wank. Fandom is idiotic. I don't like Duncan all that much, but he's better for Veronica than Logan is.

WHAT CARRIE SAID. I love Duncan toooo.

(But not as much as I love Caaaaaaaaaaaaassidy!!!)
