This show is unnervingly good at feeding my whims.

Me: I kind of wish they'd built up the UST between Logan and Veronica BEFORE the random kissing, but whatever, YAY KISSING. To keep me interested, there's going to have to be MORE making out, and not some half-assed self-loathing ignoring that it never happened, YES SPIKE AND BUFFY I'M LOOKING AT YOU. In conclusion: THERE SHOULD BE MORE KISSING.

They: *make out. a lot. in the green-lit-Veronica's-unofficial-office-girl's-bathrooms. AWESOME.*

Me: ...well, okay then.

~ after a while ~

Me: Okay, I want fuckingnuts!Logan back, please. For a little while. This nice person is fine, but...only in small doses.

Show: *opens can of worms labelled LOGAN SELLS DATERAPE DRUGS??!!*

Me: TENSION. SEXCELLENT.

And in conclusion the second: I have not touched the fandom with a ten foot pole yet, but I get the feeling there are going to be a lot of rabid and irritating Logan/Veronica shippers. Yes, I've heard of the cutesy acronym. This saddens me. Logan is a fantastic character and I kind of want to worship at Jason Dohring's feet, but I can see how the 'sometimes they hate each other and CLEARLY THIS CONSTITUTES INEVITABLE TWOO WUV' mindset of fandom in general would have a field day with the 'ship.

Soooo...everyone who was hanging around wondering if/what I'd be writing for the fandom...I love the show, it's fantastic TV and one of the best-done things I've ever seen on screen, but it hasn't grabbed my writerly self by the collar in the same way that Doctor Who has and BSG did. I don't know. I think it's because it's very streamlined, very self-contained, not a lot of wiggle room for doing your own thing with the characters.

That said: any forthcoming fic (and there'll be at least one, to thank dopplegl for the DVDs :D) will very likely be Logan-centric and probably feature Logan/Veronica in SOME sense, though possibly not the romantic. There may just be kissing and snark and HUGE PILES OF ISSUES because the issues are the fun part.

It will also feature Mac, because Mac is DA BOMB, and very probably Lilly's ghost. This show has very good female backup, despite the fact that everyone in the opening credits is male but Veronica herself.

I...guess I need to hunt down some VMars icons, huh. I have none. Which is why you get this icon, which is my new favourite pixelated square in the whole damn universe.

If you're looking for good VM fic, devilpiglet writes about the best Logan I've ever read, and she never glosses over his issues, or his and Veronica's mutual issues. Very highly recommended. And I think most of her stuff is pre-S2, too.
