Yes, I'm allowed to be online, because I just spent an hour and a half reading about anosognosia. I get to learn about some pretty weird shit.
This is possibly an excellent time to mention my deep and abiding love for deconstructing scientific words into their Greek roots. (Oh, what? Don't even try to pretend you haven't got a hobby at least that geeky. Don't even.)
A (lack of) - nosos (disease) - gnosia (knowledge). It's so neat. And I love gnosia, as a root, because it gives us agnostic ('I don't know'), Gnosticism, and a whoooole lot of lovely psychological impairments: agnosia, simultagnosia, prosopagnosia (inability to recognise faces, from the Greek prosopon, meaning face). And so on. HI, I'M AN ENORMOUS DORK.
