Add-on ASC for Cell Physiology in Health & Disease = reading course on signalling pathways in the malaria parasite.

This semester looks better already. MALARIA. MY LOVE.

And of course Kiaran is an awesome lecturer and full of exciting ideas and of course he is now clamouring for me to do Honours and kjdsabsaosudkjefx noooooo I don't want to do Honours. But maybe (malaria!) I do. BUT I DON'T.

But it's another year's worth of scholarship money.

I know, I know. I have a real problem with forward thinking. I should concentrate on the Now. However, the Now consists of me in the science library eyeing my copy of Angels in America and being very tempted to curl up somewhere and read rather than rehearse my vis/cog neuroscience seminar.

Stressing over the future involves far less immediate guilt.

This may say something profound about me.

I wouldn't worry about honors JUST yet! See how you feel about it closer to the time, you MAY be sick of uni or you may not want to leave. ^-^ You COULD have a job offer which could pay you MORE than the scholarship ^-^

It's not a question of finding a job or being sick of uni - I'm almost definitely going on to do four years of postgrad medicine - it's just a question of whether I really want to spend an extra year doing research when I'm not all that keen on research anyway and it won't really increase my chances of getting into med school.

But yeah. I'll worry about it more next year.

I really liked Kiaran too, in BaMBi there isn't much in the way of even half decent lecturers (IMHO)so it is nice to get a good one. I remember a rather amusing lecture where he demostrated how renal glucose pumps work using scrunched up bits of paper...I can't seem to remember why it was so amusing...but, yeah (don't you just love stories that go nowhere~).

I'm with Anna on the honours thing.

Today he demonstrated membrane permeability by adding red food colouring to oil and water and shaking it. I love lecturers who come up with random visual aids.
