assessment update
Seminar done. Academics are bizarre. There weren't any questions at the end, but only because the faculty had a great time interrupting me during the presentation, and getting into arguments amongst themselves, and firing questions at my supervisor and I, and going off on weird tangents about their PhD theses and man, was that ever a weird morning.
Me: *mentally exhausted* Any last questionsPLEASE GOD NO MORE?
Woman: So where are you going with it next?
Me: Um...my next Advanced Studies Course is going to be in cell physiology.
Woman: Oh! I thought this was a discussion of your Honours thesis!
Me: ...I'M A SECOND-YEAR BIOLOGY STUDENT.
Anyway. It's done. I think my supervisor feels guilty for forgetting to go to my first presentation, and I was all effusive and grateful at the end (possibly this will up the guilt factor) so hopefully my mark for the semester won't be too bad.
Ecology of Health & Disease exam tomorrow. Am sort of prepared. Need to memorise a whole lot of stuff about existing vaccinations and animal viral reservoirs and other thrilling things.
Biological Basis of Behaviour exam on Saturday. Am nowhere near as prepared as I should be.
AMERICA IN A WEEK.

On the bus home from Civic today I saw a rental campervan that had a lot of faux-graffiti on it. One of the messages was:
SUPPORT BACTERIA. IT'S THE ONLY CULTURE SOME PEOPLE HAVE.
Hee.
