poll!

Because I am immensely curious as to whether anyone else in the universe has seen half the shows I have:

[Poll #744165]

For the record, I would recommend any of the shows on this list. Except maybe The OC, but I quit that after S2 because I no longer cared about any of the characters. I remain fond of S1.

OMG COUPLING. WHY HAS NOBODY SEEN COUPLING? IT HAS NORRINGTON IN IT! It is also the single funniest show I have ever seen. You only think I'm kidding.

ETA: Sod it, I knew I'd forget something. Black Books! Um. Comment if you've seen Black Books? *loses*

I've seen it! And own it! Huzzah! Ji has my DVD and I need to get it back from her.

Have seen Black Books.

Adore Black Books.

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
And Black Books, of course.

Note that some of these I have seen more of than others, of course.

ADDENDUM: FIRST EXAM DOWN, SO TIRED.

Note: my answers of having watched do not necessarily indicate having enjoyed.

Completely understandable. I have to be in certain moods for some of them. I'm mostly curious as to whether many of my beloved British shows actually EXIST in America.

Black Books is goodness.

I have a friend who is basically just a 19 year old Bernard.

[identity profile] kcdl.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
Coupling is great, though it wasn't quite as good when the Jeff character left. I've also seen the American version which is pretty exactly the same except they use different actors. I don't why they bother making their own versions - except perhaps to save them putting subtitles on the originals because they can't understand english accents.

I love Black Books but I've missed a bunch of episodes.

WTF, America.

And no, replacement!Jeff was not nearly as good as Jeff, although he did have a few very funny moments.

Favourite episode? I think I still love Jane and the Truth Snake best.

[identity profile] kcdl.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
although he did have a few very funny moments.
One of my favourites was him cleaning up all his porn before Jane came around and seeing the huge toilet paper pyramid on his coffee table(and it's implied use)...yeah I have a very low brow sense of humour at times...

Favourite episode?
That's too hard, this is one of the few shows where I have laughed out loud almost every episode, often nearly all the way through.

Having said that I'm wondering why it has never occured to me to get the DVDs...

Hmmmmm. Is Sea Change the one with David Wenham as someone like Diver Dan?

*slurps up unseemly drool*

Yes. Seen that.

[personal profile] ashen_key 2006-06-08 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes it is!

I LOVE Diver Dan.

[identity profile] strange-selkie.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I love David Wenham. I would have his babies if I was like that.
ext_21673: (just a little unwell (margot))

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I had no idea SeaChange had even made it past the Aussie shores! It and BallyK were the shows that I watched with my family when I was a wee thing.

[identity profile] strange-selkie.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
*la la David Wenham la la huh?*

BallyK has an INSANE following in the southwest of Ireland, which is where I saw it. I don't remember where I caught the couple episodes of SeaChange, but it was somewhere in the EU.
ext_21673: (so she has that neverland glow)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
The first season of BallyK was great, and then WORST SEASON FINALE EVER. And it was never quite the same after that, but so very very...Irish.

*nostalgic eargasm*

I've seen Black Books - only a few episodes on a borrowed DVD set, but they were fantastic. And I was forced to watch recent OC by my sister, but NO MORE.

There are a lot on your list that I would like to see. Does that count?
ext_21673: (shiny happy people)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
What in particular would you like to see?

If I could enable the WHOLE WORLD to see Wire in the Blood, I would. It is fan.tas.tic.

[identity profile] unravels.livejournal.com 2006-06-09 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
*adds that to the top of the list*

I have a BSG taped, I just haven't seen it. I haven't even seen the last few episodes of House or 24, which I watched religiously. Grah.

I think I've seen parts of Blackadder, but never a whole one, and that seems like an extreme oversight. Everyone raves about Gray's Anatomy. I saw exactly one episode of Lost, but it was fascinating (possibly because it was only one episode, according to one friend's rather critical opinion). And QaF is legendary, but I don't have HBO. :/

[identity profile] littledust.livejournal.com 2006-06-08 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I checked BSG because I promise I will watch it when my brain stops going *kerfloof* at any attempt at mental stimulation.

I totally watched The O.C. for the lesbians. And then they were gone! ;;

[identity profile] juprujac.livejournal.com 2006-06-09 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Speaking of QAF, after seeing that “tiny picspam” you did, I now want to watch this show. I’m curious! Do you now were I can get the episodes here on lj?
Thanks. =)
