No, that's all right, Acrobat Reader, I don't care if you refuse to open a single .pdf file and in fact crash Firefox every time I ask you do to so.

It's not like I have a hundred research articles and sets of lecture notes to print off or anything.

Honestly, I'd be amused at how obviously the universe doesn't want me to do anything even remotely resembling schoolwork, if it weren't for the fact that I NEED TO DO MY SODDING SCHOOLWORK.

I don't know if this helps, but my laptop and Acrobat screw around with me as well. I've noticed that if you open Acrobat, then open up your file it works.
Maybe this will work for you :)
