ups and downs
Skyfire last night was lovely. I refuse to work out the ratio of how much time I spent in the queue for the Portaloos and the coffee stall : how much time I spent actually sitting on the rug with people, playing Hearts and eating delicious picnic goods. It would just be depressing. (And then there's the FORTY-FIVE MINUTES it took us to move TEN METRES in the enormous traffic jam to get out of the National Library carpark and onto the streets. We shall not speak of that. Q and I just turned down the windows, pumped up the music and sat there enjoying the night air and pretending we were in no hurry to get home.)
But the fireworks themselves were excellent. LIGHT. Oh. I adore fireworks.
In other news: I win at the universe. With my newfound authority, I will find a way to do my bloody genetics prac writeup when my partner wrote down which of the absorption tray wells our DNA samples were in, and I forgot to get the coordinates off her. GENIUS.
And I was feeling so efficient about getting up early and going for a run and tidying the apartment a little so that I could just sit down and bash this report out and have it over and done with. Dammit.
