calling Elvis

Someone must have slipped something into my coffee last night, because I sat down and in three hours managed to type out the fic that's been slowly growing inside me ever since I first saw '33'. I AM SO PROLIFIC LATELY. SIOBHAN. I THINK IT'S CATCHING.

For now I am sitting in the beautiful, beautiful air-conditioned library and wondering how best to attack the backlog of friends entries.

Is anyone around to entertain me? I have a meeting in two hours. But that is two hours of computer time. Comment! Link me to fics or entries I need to read! Say hello! I miss you all!

I am so in love with my new hair, by the way. Photos pending. My omgpirate icon is sadly dated, hairstyle-wise, but I still love it.

ETA:

So a little while ago I had hair like this:

There is not much of a point to this picture, but I like the dress. Please ignore the fact that all pictures I take of myself in mirrors are inevitably blurry and dark because of bad light positioning.

Taken the morning of the cut:

I am grumpy. This is because I just woke up. Note PJs.

Ta da! Shiny new hair, which miraculously bestows not only a more cheerful facial expression but also better photo clarity. The lighting makes it look a bit more orangey than it actually is.

Eurgh, timing. Okay. Things have diverged somewhat from my original backstory theory, which was that the Fall was a punishment, but I think that's been thrown out the window because by the time R came across Lucifer and Moriel on the battlefield they HAD to have Fallen for his Purpose to be awakened, right?

The becoming no longer subject to the Name was, I think, more gradual than anything else; simply listening to the voices in the Darkness began it, and he would have progressed in rebellion as he found that he was - not ALLOWED to do so, but that the potential to function as an independent unit was there. Um. Am I making any sense? If you want a single moment of...realisation, say...you could probably improvise anything symbolic :D Drawing a sword appeals to my sense of aesthetics.

Well... I had been working under the assumption that they had Fallen at that point, yes, though rebellion - in whatever form - might have done it if you want to go that way. I think that particular moment is covered much better in your original story, anyway, so I am trying to stay well away from it. ;)

And as for becoming independent, I think I see what you mean. Something gradual but growing until actually fighting back becomes conceivable. And after going back to the fight (SO cool to reread, wow), it looks like there were already armies formed up before Raguel turns up, so that answers another question.

Thanks! :D
