nothing but the rain, sir

Oh, the prolificism of me!

Hi, I'm Fahye and I like inventing ridiculously complex backstory and not getting caught in the rain*. (Fic is BSG, but actually comprised largely of original characters, so feel free to give it a try if you haven't got anything else to do.)

Because I am a massive fool (and because the DVD menus are poorly designed) I didn't realise that I actually do own the deleted scenes for BSG season one. Tonight I am watching those and then watching the Golden Globes purely for Hugh Laurie's speech. THE POP CULTURE, IT TAINTS ME.

ETA: OH MY GOD, BILLY IS THE MOST ADORABLE THING EVER. LEE AND KARA'S FRAKKED UP LOVE IS ONLY SLIGHTLY LESS ADORABLE. HURRAH FOR DELETED SCENES. I INFLICT CAPS LOCK UPON YOU ALL ONLY TO SHOW THE STRENGTH OF MY HAPPINESS.

*Which, by the way. I NEVER GET CAUGHT IN THE RAIN. I went for a run because stormclouds make me restless and the air was amazing, lightning in the distance and cool winds and the smell of eucalyptus, and I stepped up to the front door the moment the first drops fell. And now it is bucketing down like a mofo.

I'm chalking it up to divine sanction of my intense dislike of being wet, and leaving it at that.

He's just so CUTE AND INNOCENT AND OFFERING HIS HAND AND ASJJHSF

And, dude, my love for Billy is like massive. SO MASSIVE. I love his first press conference especially when the guy asks about taxes! HILARITY. When you get caught up you should totally watch the video blog on the SciFi site with Paul Campbell who is hilarious and whom I love deeply.

It also has Katee Sackhoff being adorable and Jamie Bamber being so funny omg. And very hungry. And wee.

Though, now that I think about it, maybe not after you've caught up since the episode that they were filming whilst that video blog was recording still hasn't aired yet! Hmm. Dilemma. It's so funny though. There are various references to things from it in my interests, actually!

I...actually, for some canons I have a tendency to steer clear of things like interviews with actors, 'making of' featurettes, that kind of thing. Something about the way it breaks the fourth wall. I like the illusion that these people are real and that they exist solely in this invented, self-contained world.

Hilarity, however, is generally a good way to get me to break this rule. (See also the LotR cast and the fantastic extras on the DVDs.)

Once I've seen season two I'm sure I'll put out a general call for meta and other exciting things.

Interviews and behind-the-scenes things are sort of a double-edged sword with BSG.

The main rule, however, is to never, ever listen to anything Ron D. Moore says ever, UNLESS maybe he is talking with David Eick. Not only is he boring and full of crack and pompous, he also likes to spoil people for everything ever.

The actors are very often clever and hilarious, but sometimes they come up with some rather crazy and soul-killing things to say. Except for Jamie Bamber. He never says anything crazy. He is either being hilarious or insightful or just plain adorable. And then there is his accent. Guh. Which is all why I have A HUMONGOUS CRUSH ON HIM OMG.
