THIS IS GONNA BE LOOOOOONG…
It is, truly. I need to post quite a bit of stuff because our computer up and DIED on us just when we needed it most ie. after we got back from Thredbo. So here it is. Will involve a couple of lj-cuts to fit in some of the more complex bits so skip them if you don’t have much time.
I got some more Hellsing watched on the weekend. INTEGRA. IS. THE. COOLEST. CHARACTER. EVER. That bit where she stabs herself because of the tainted blood, and when she faces down the Iscariot guys... *faints in awe* The best scene in the ENTIRE SERIES so far is in the flashback, when Alucard puts out his arm to stop the bullet and she aims her gun over his arm... I can certainly see why Integra/Alucard is so popular. If I was an innocent little het shipper I would certainly be all for it. Hell, I AM for it. But A/A is so much more fun to write :-)
I AM A CONVERTER OF THE MASSES!! I am!! Teegs and Mel know a bit of the story but
My friend Anna was in Thredbo with us (we were sharing a lodge with her family) and she saw my Squall wallpaper. The next few hours went a bit like this:
A: Who’s that?
F: He’s called Squall. Isn’t he gorgeous?? *drools over Dimitri’s keyboard*
A: Yeah, he is!!
F: *shows her picture of Tidus*
A: He’s hot too!!
F: *shows her some FF video clips*
A: They’re GORGEOUS!! *sees Irvine* OMG he looks JUST like my friend!
F: *gasps in envy* You have a friend who looks like IRVINE?? (her botfriend looks just like Dimitri, too. I am SO DAMN JEALOUS)
A: Yeah...
F: *growls and shows her more clips*
A: He’s hot too! (Tamahome) He isn’t...(Touga) That looks so coooool! (Ceres) Show me more! Do you have the movie with HIM in it? (Squall)
F: Ah, that’s not a movie. It’s a game.
A: Oh. What do you have?
F: I have a happy anime about a band, and a cool one about vampires and blood...
A: *makes face* I hate horror movies. Can we watch the other one?
F: *dubiously* Okay... it’s, um, guy-guy relationships. Is that okay with you?
A: Uh, I guess...*watches first ep of Grav with me frantically explaining plot*
F: *warily* So... what did you think?
A: PUT ON THE NEXT ONE!! QUICK!!
F: *goggles* Okay...
*watch basically the whole series*
F: Ah, do you want a break...
A: NO! MUST FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS!
F: *goggles even more* Okay!
*finish series* (we had a LOT of time on our hands...)
A: Oooh that was cool Shuichi is a bit annoying but I really like Yuki and yes I agree Hiro is quite hot and I can’t believe that was the end that was so unsatisfying why isn’t there more?
F: Well there are some OVAs but I didn’t bring them...
A: NOOOOOOO
F: *hastily explains plot of OVAs*
A: Well sometime I have to come over to your house and we will watch MORE anime!
F: ...*faints in proud joy*
AND if that wasn’t enough, that evening I got talking with one of the mums, Deb, about music (she does the same thing as me, unpicks the layers in my head and choreographs dances to it... I’m not weird or anything...) So here is THAT little convo:
D: So what music do you like?
F: Um, techno dancy stuff...
D: Really? Me too! I love dancing to techo, I'm a dancing nut!
F: ME TOO!!!
D: Especially those orchestral pieces with techno backing...
F: *waves hands frantically* Stay here!! *runs and gets Dimitri*
D: Who’s that? He’s hot! (that was Squall AGAIN... damn do I have impeccable taste)
*plays her Ameno remix and Duel of the Fates remix*
D: Wow, those were amazing! I liked the anime clips...
F: *picks up jaw from floor* You know what ANIME is??
D: Sure, I studies Japanese and lived in Asia for a bit, so I watched heaps...

D: It’s amazing how different the styles are...

Huge crowd of people staring over my shoulder: You MADE those??
F: *jumps* GAAA! Um...yeah.
D: What else do you do?
F: Well, I like writing...
D: Me too! Part of my degree is writing!
F: *floats away in blissful kindred-spirit-ness*
D: I think it’s important to always do what you like, I mean people think that I shouldn’t like this kind of thing because I’m grown up but I still love it... You should really go to Japan one day Freya, you'd love it. And you should learn japanese maybe outside school...
ISN’T SHE COOL??? I want HER as MY mum!
I also climbed Mt Koz... Kos... screw that. The tall one. (why is an AUSTRALIAN mountain named after some POLISH guy who fought in the AMERICAN wars to free his country form RUSSIA??) Wasn’t too bad, and I called Teegs from the top. Sorry for that random call, Teegs. I was bored.
Also had a REALLy weird dream that night. I dunno if it had any deep meaning but it was the most... emotionally INTENSE dream I’ve ever had.
It started off with a sort of Hellsing bit, where Alucard was telling Integra that he had to quit or leave or something, and she was talking to him and clasping his hands in hers... it was soooo beautiful and moving... you know how you can feel emotions in dreams? Sooo coool. And for some reason Integra had on one of those Sherlock Holmes hats, and she laughed and gave it to Alucard, and he gave his to her... (I’d like to write that scene as a fanfic but have no idea as to how I can plausibly get Integra to wear a detective’s hat...)
Anyway I was watching this like it was a movie, and I suddenly saw the shadow of someone with a gun and I KNEW that he was going to kill Integra but I couldn’t say anything... So he shot her, and she cried out and there was blood all over her shoulder...
Then all of a sudden all of US decided to go and visit Integra in hospital (???) but when we got there it turns out it was BUFFY who was wounded in the shoulder (???????) and while we were there visiting Integra came in apparently healed and with her hair all wet and stringy and looking incredibly pretty but she was a REAL person, not an animated one, and she hugged Buffy. Who all of a sudden was Liz, not Buffy. (?????????? Don’t ask ME...)
SO then we decided to do a spell to heal whoever was wounded (I think it was Integra again) and also to get Alice’s memory back (yeah I know I thought that was rather funny too...) So we all had to get ingredients and meet at a spot at night to do it. The spot was a children’s playground, and people arrived in pairs (I remember the twins came together, and Eugenie and Liz did too) and stood around on the equipment. There was a streetlight or something so everyone was lit from behind and was standing really still... and then there was another of those FEELINGS, except this just felt so... belonging. And complete. That makes no sense, but it was incredible at the time, but it was like we were all incredibly close even though there were so many people there. And there were really heaps of ppl, EVERYONE from our group was there plus a few randoms. I know Ellen Horner was one, weird I know but she was like Willow when she dresses up cool in the Halloween episode, and she was so serious and calm... I think JD was there for like a millisecond, just hanging around wearing her piles of goth jewellery. And Erin was there, and it was because one of the things for the spell was something to do with a “blue-eyed stranger”. And that was Erin.
Everyone put their things together on this huge table, starting with a piece of chocolate cake that we poured soft drink over (I had a very unhealthy dinner that night, ok?). I had the spell written down, and was going through decoding all the cryptic bits and telling people when to add stuff. We stood around the table and I think started chanting a bit that wasn’t meant to be chanted and Teegs had to poke me and show me where I was supposed to be up to. And there were candles and stuff, and we were all holding hands around this huge table in the dark.
I don’t know if we finished the spell or not, I’m not even sure WHEN I woke up, but I remembered it so clearly and still do. Dunno if it means anything other than I’d eaten too much chocolate cake and watched/written too much Hellsing, but damn was it interesting.
Well that was a HUGE entry. Didn’t do much today, watched a teensy bit of FY and am totally in love with Nuriko. And hate Miaka all over again. (Ashitare attacks her and she just stands there and WAILS) And feel so sorry for Suboshi being treated like shit by Yui.
Aliiiiii *looks angelic* Can you make me a blinky-thing plz? I am the only person without one now I think... *sniff* Eujar were u gonna do a squall one for me? Everyone else seems to have one colour for theirs (Ali - yellow, Teegs - blue, Eujaur - red) Can I have purple?? Purple Squall... *giggles*
Better go now, a tiny bit more slash to write and essay to prepare for...
