Should I like Grey's Anatomy this much?

Probably not.

*ridiculously attached to...everyone...*

I love the fact that they decided to show the second season back-to-back with the first, so I think we're only a week behind the States.

Re: the teaser for next week - OMG THEY WOULDN'T MAKE BURKE DO THAT. THEY WOULDN'T. NO.

*shrieks at scriptwriters in horrified delight*

YOOOOOU BASTARDS.

That show rocks. I hoping George gets Meradith in the end. I hate that ponce Shepard....I'm just jealous of course.

I love George, I really do, but he and Meredith Would Not Work. They don't click at all. Sheppard and Meredith at least have some kind chemistry, albeit the normal let's-bicker-a-lot type. I think Christina and Burke are the most interesting couple.

Plus, you know. Sheppard's really, really hot.

:D

Yeah I know she sees him more like a brother, but you know it's a rooting for the underdog thing (or perhaps a vicarious wish forefillment thing). Still I was a little disappointed that he dumped the nurse; going after Meradith in this way is unhealthly *has vietnam style flashback to past mistakes**shivers*.

And yes despite being male I am fully aware he is really, really hot. Do you HAVE to rub it in? :P

P.S. Do you get the nasty feeling that Izzy is going to sucked in by Alex the Arsehole. I can just see her brain ticking over "Oh his daddy used to beat him and he hugged George. Well obviously he can't be that big an arsehole." That'll piss me off more that Meradith and Sheppard.

[identity profile] oscar-dom.livejournal.com 2005-10-17 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Izzy is totally getting sucked in by Alex the arsehole; there is no doubt! Every episode they try to show how Alex isn't such an arsehole as we think he is (and by "we" I mean Izzy, very much Izzy...) Like last night, when she got all offended, because he told her off for trying to subvert a patient's decision, only to eventually discover why that was - when Alex was with the kid, outside, telling him about his own father. When you think about it, it kind of parallels Izzy's own development (i.e, when she started out, everyone thought she was a ditzy model and incapable of being a surgeon)

GAH!
It's soooooo good! I don't think I'd mind seeing Alex the arsehole and Izzy together for a bit. It could work.

PS:
George is cute too. I find him more attractive than Dr. McDreamy.

[identity profile] kcdl.livejournal.com 2005-10-18 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah I think it'll work for a little while. Oxymoronically I think Alex is deeply superficially not an arsehole. I mean deep down he isn't an arsehole but a little below that is another arsehole side of him waiting to get out. They'll date long enough for her to realise that.

Which episode are you on because it gets sooooo good soon. I swear it does. It's made me cry 2 weeks in a row.

This was the one with the incredibly complex fast dialogue and the confusingly overdone metaphors at the end.

No, wait, that's all of them :D

'Enough is Enough', this one was called. The one with the abusive husband, and Alex being sensitive (*sniggers*) and the AWESOME scene at the beginning where Christina and Meredith are drunk.

Ahhhh, you are two behind us. You just WAIT until next week. o.O

THEY DO, DON'T THEY?

THAT'S JUST PLAIN CRUEL.

Burke is my favorite. That's all I have to say.

. . .Except for when Christina is. Or George. Or Meredith and Dr. McDreamy.

Or. . oh hell. It's like when you ask someone who their favorite Firefly character is. Nobody has just one!

;_; SHE LOVES YOU REALLY, BURKE! MELT THAT COLD HEART! MEEEEEEEELT!

*cheerfully rolls in the melodrama*

I know! I love everyone! Even Alex, though he's more fun when he's not suddenly being Deep.

[identity profile] oscar-dom.livejournal.com 2005-10-17 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally! All those longing looks Christina was throwing his way this week. NURGH! I wish she'd just tell him she's pregnant, to take him down a notch; practically everyone else has worked it out now.

It's such a good show. Grey's Anatomy coupled with House and MASH means that my television loves me and I love my television. This week's "moment" for me was when Derek told George to "look after her" which could have implied the patient, even - but George immediately picked up on it and replied, "Meredith?" and Derek's all like, "Yes" and we're all like "SQUEEEEEE! GAH! SO CUTE."

Oh, my, yes. The medical shows on TV at the moment are just great.

(Steer far, faaaaar away from 'The Surgeon', Aussie drama's attempt to cash in on the success of Grey's Anatomy. It's terrible.)

AND LAST WEEK. 'I'm your person.' I love Christina more and more every week.

And I think you're right - Izzy and Alex will be good fun, if the writers don't try and rush it. The longer they draw it out and build up the UST the more we'll be throwing popcorn at the screen and yelling JUST DO IT ALREADY.

Yeah, last week on the aus_house community, we were making fun of the adverts they were running through House - featuring Hugh on one side, and the girl from the Surgeon on the other; pathetic (but funny to think that they hope Hugh might make the Surgeon look at least slightly appealing? I don't know).

Totally avoiding it; as much as I hate to admit it, Americans do this genre better (in fact, from what I can see - Americans do most dramas better... Which is sad, but so true).
