And life picks up the pace once again. Uni has started - I'm taking Molecular Biology, Human Biology with an extension research project on HTLV-1 (a viral form of leukemia), Intro to Psychology II (Social and Personality) and Perception and Cognition, a second-year psych course.
Fun fun fun.
I'm also Concert Manager for the university choral society, doing cleaning for my mother, probably tutoring two kids, and working one morning and one afternoon a week doing data entry for my father's company. So. Um. The amount of free time I'll have to spend online will be drastically reduced, I'll only be on in the evenings when all sane (or, ah, semi-sane) American aliens are asleep, and I'll pretty much have to swear off the crackbar until the mid-semester break.
...wah. *hugs you all* I doubt I'll be chatting much at all, but would adore and cherish any emails in my inbox or letters in my letterbox. Uni means me sitting around with a lecture pad, which means letters for you lot! I'll make a separate post with screened comments for people to give me updated addresses.
For the moment life is pretty damn fine, though. I ducked into my favourite little secondhand book store, directly along the way as I walk from campus to the bus interchange, and Still Life With Woodpecker had GONE, bitch whine grumble moan. It was there last week. I was hoping it hadn't been picked up, but the lady said that Tom Robbins always goes fast. Bah. So I picked up a short anthology called Devilish Deeds, which is a collection of stories by famous authors exploring the idea of the Devil. This has become something of a minor literary interest of mine, as I seem to collect devil characters like nobody's business. Feel free to rec me books!
Speaking of which...
*PIMP PIMP PIMP OMG* Holly actually put this really well, so I'll just steal what she said about this RP thread.
The devil and the angel of divine vengeance meet in a bar. There is so much angst and whitetext in there that I feel like I barely made it out alive. If you find the various political machinations of Heaven and Hell interesting at all, or the Gaiman short story "Murder Mysteries" or just the idea of Love and the Fall from grace as parallel concepts, you should check it out. And watch out for that whitetext. It's sneaky.
Yup. Exactly what she said. I edited out the bits where she gave me her soul, but it's all okay because she can have mine, if she wants :)
I will be reading HBP as soon as the Original Housemate has finished with it. I am under strict orders to be done by Saturday so that I can squeal properly at
ryokophoenix's Potterparty. All the raving has made me very optimistic that I shall rediscover my joy in the books as canon, which is...a good feeling.

I actually got Still Life with Woodpecker just the other day... no time to read it, though, for at least a week. I could loan it to you if there wasn't that ocean problem. Somebody should do something about that. I can promise that it wasn't me who took the one you had your eye on, though. :/

Ahaha I started doing my own edit on a hard copy and there are typos and too many commas and half a sentence has gone missing. I really should have proofread, but I was tired as hell.
