And in conclusion:

The study successfully confirmed that context has a significant positive effect on the speed of letter identification, providing support for top-down models of cognitive processing such as Rumelhart and McClelland’s (1981) Interactive Activation Model. The study’s results combined with those of researchers such as Pelli et al. (2003) provide potential background for further studies into how letter and word processing occurs; if the legibility of single letters and the context of a full, lexically recognisable word are both vital to the process of reading, further research could provide insight into how our mind reconciles inconsistencies at these levels, and a more refined model of interactive processing and how it applies to reading could be developed.

Does that sound boring? Y/N

Try writing the sodding thing.

I am 232 words over the word limit; I am cheerfully lying about 34 of those words and pretending that I thought we were allowed a 10% leeway. Even though we aren't. Some industrial eyelash batting may be in order here.

I am going to put on my warmest pyjamas, make myself green tea, start writing a proper outline for Countdown (That Epic R/S Fic Wot I Mentioned A While Back) and pretend that I don't have to research and write a 2000 word essay in the next four days.

La la la.

Also re: today's previous post, I realise only now how stunningly nonsensical that will be to anyone but a bare few people. It was also not meant to be a poem, but it would insist on becoming so.

That said, I am oddly proud of it for a quick handful of words pulled out of a brain destroyed by psycholinguistics, so feel free to read it anyway and laugh at my sudden overdependence on brackets in my writing.

*grins* Don't get your hopes up too high, it's going to take a while for me to work out the plottish details before I even attempt writing it.
