a geek moment
So here I find myself, on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of my mid-semester break, having just spent the past two hours running between the science and humanities libraries on campus. Digging up books with titles like Time Of Our Lives: love and labour in the working class, and sitting down taking notes from a pile of psychology journals that I had to sneak, Indiana Jones-style, through rows and rows of dusty shelves to locate. Nearly crowing with joy at finally finding the diagram I was searching for in Medical Immunology, and chucking a hissy fit when the catalogue failed to turn up any copies of the Time and Society journal.
You know what? I fucking enjoyed it. The whole taking-notes-til-my-eyes-burn and then attempting to shove all the information into a cohesive report and essay - one on letter identification and the word-superiority effect, the other on temporal restructuring and its effect on the modernisation of the Australian workplace (er, less pretentious than it sounds, I swear) is going to kill me and make me curse my forefathers to the heavens, but for now? That was kinda fun.
My geekdom now knows no bounds.
(Speaking of geekdom, and especially for the ancient history gerbils on my flist, of which I know there are lots - apparently this is kind of important.)

A friend made it for a silly Matrix RPG we were part of ages ago, and I've always though it to be amusing.
It's about the geekiest thing I've got. I need a proper geek icon.
