from my blinded sight; to the storm of night
Presents list! By request from
schiarire, which is nice because I can bask in my own glow of possession and blame it all on her. Ahem.
* Shakesperean magnetic poetry kit
* Tea scoop sieve...thing
* Liquer chocolates <3
* Three cookbooks - quick Asian meals, low fat food, salads
* Clear nail polish
* Um, other small stocking stuff which I cannot remember
* Collected short stories of John Varley. LOVE.
* iPod (cheating, because I got it ages ago, but still)
* Money
* Don Watson's Weasel Words. Books on language. Mmmm.
* A weird book on teenagers from my grandfather, who is woefully inept at choosing presents for me
* Tea! Christmas tea, glogg, autumn spice, spiced orange. More meant for winter, but oh so nice.
I'll have more when the ones my father cleverly left in Bendigo get sent here.
Also: those three Christmas fics that I have completed (apart from Art's). I really am sorry, everyone; I spent far too long on the few that I did, because I'm a perfectionist. And then I forgot how many other committments I had, and then I was just lazy. They will be completed - I'm going down the coast for a few days, taking laptop, no Internet. Writing will occur.

My mother: "I'm sure most people spent Christmas Day going for walks with cousins, or helping wash up, or playing games with their siblings, not sitting in front of the computer."
She doesn't know my kind of people, obviously *g*
The forecasted Christmas Rain lasted for all of fifteen minutes, and now it's back to being a classic Christmas - warm, slightly humid, with the sound of the air conditioning and people splashing in the pool and a bit of wind in the trees. It strikes me that this must seem incredibly alien to anyone not living down here - hell, we exchange Christmas cards with snowflakes and fireplaces and robins, and then we spend our day in the heat and the sun and it all seems very normal. This is Christmas. Summer dresses and a siesta after lunch and lazy afternoon heat to read new books in.
Welcome to my world?

Your fic, I have started! But I don't know if I like the idea any more and I may delete it and start over.
(Sekrit: I'm in a everything-I-write-I-despise kind of slump. That's one factor in why nothing has been produced. I write, shudder, delete, lather, rinse, repeat.)

* Associate me somehow with the word or concept of "stars" or "space".
* Associate yourself somehow with the word or concept of "water" or "oceans".
* The setting/theme should include a conference of some kind.
Does that help? ^_^ *is probably very mean, apparently always makes these things difficult >_o I don't mean to!*
