the DAY from HELL
Today has been ABSOLUTELY SHIT. I swear it has. Apart from the going-to-Woden-and-seeing-friends-and-watching-Chicago bit, I mean. I TRIED to follow Mel’s considerate example and only put a link so you didn’t have to read it if you couldn’t be stuffed. BUT IT DIDN'T WORK! Not on my computer anyhow. Dunno what I did wrong. HELP!
Anyway, it is a VERY long whinge so skip it if you like. I just need to wallow in my misery for a while.
Okay. First of all my mother insisted I got up at 8am to “put my body clock back in balance” for when school starts again. I got dressed and came out only to discover that my brother and sister, who are HIDEOUSLY CHEERFUL MORNING PEOPLE, had already been up for ages and had eaten all the raisin toast. Naturally I was very pissed off about this.
Then I watched some more FB only to discover that on lots of the episodes the sound is about 10 secs behind the animation so I had to watch it with the sound off to keep from being driven insane. Plus on one of the CDs 2 out of the 3 eps refused to work AT ALL. And then when I found some that WOULD work, I was introduced to a horrible character. THE NAME OF HIRO HAS BEEN DEFILED!!!! Hiro in FB is this incredibly arrogant bratty kid who spends half his time ordering Tohru around and the other half asking her why she never stands up for herself. You feel like punching him. MANY TIMES. Eventually Kyo threatens to hit him (hurrah for the Tasuki-boy!) but horrid little kid asks him if he wants to be arrested for child abuse. Grrr. Of course it is all due to his DARK PAST and a SECRET LOVE that was DENIED, but he still pisses the hell out of me.
(He and his love interest are soooo cute though. They’re like 11 or something. *pats them on the head and giggles*)
Well after that it just went downhill. I walked to the bus stop only to find that my timetable was WRONG and I had to wait for ages before the bus would come. Then I got to Woden, bought a gorgeous pencilcase in Little Enfant (This should be a good thing I admit but WAIT!! It gets bad!!) and went to Big W to buy a pacer. Spent 10 minutes in stupid “express lane” queue for “3 items or less”. Was almost late to meet others.
Decided to see Chicago, bought tickets. Went to food court for lunch, spent AGES looking for table then AGES in Ali Baba queue before buying kebab which stupid girl forgot to put BBQ sauce on so was dry and disgusting.
Saw movie. Okay this was good. See later on for squeal about THAT.
Was halfway to ice rink to meet mother when discovered that I had left my bag containing pencilcase and pacer under my seat in movies!! Went to rink. Spent AGES waiting for my brother to finish talking to his coach, all the while agonising about bag. Went to Hoyts, asked about bag. They said they hadn’t picked up ANYTHING so it was probably STOLEN. And I have no money to replace gorgeous and expensive pencilcase!
Went to dance studio to book classes. Had to wait for AGES (do you sense a pattern emerging here?) before we could book them.
Got home with 5 minutes to spare before Road Ready, had to eat hurried dinner of reheated fried rice and was almost late for RR. WHICH WAS BORING AS HELL AND LASTED FOREVEEEEEEERRRRRRR.
So now I am at home. Broke. Sad. Bored. Thinking of others at cool sleepover. *sniffs in misery for a while* I’m sure you guys all had a GREAT day.
WHINGE ENDS HERE
Well okay now I’ll talk about the one HIGH POINT in my day, which was Chicago. It’s a great movie! Moulin Rouge only American and with less (okay, NONEXISTENT) romance and more guns. Very cool indeed! I loved all the songs (except for random “Mr Cellophane” song), very jazzy and smooth. If the actors were actually singing then well done to them, but I’m not sure on that point. Except for the rather painful look-at-me-I’m-old-but-think-I’m-still-sexy Richard Gere attempting to do a sort of striptease thingo, all the dance sequences were fantastic, especially the Jail Cell Tango which was soooo cool. And Richard Gere made up for his shortcomings in the looks and sexiness department with his brilliant tap routine in the courtroom. It was VERY well put together, brilliant acting and stuff... okay no more ranting. I love musicals so I adored it, but even if you don’t usually, go see it anyway!!
Oh I just thought of another small high point. (I need to think positive here before I become suicidal) In one ep of FB we find out that Ayame (Yuki’s crazy gay older brother) runs a shop selling costumes for male romance fantasies! Tohru and Yuki go and visit and Tohru has NO IDEA so she wanders around going “Oh, what pretty dresses” and dresses up in this yellow dress that supposedly made her look kawaii but instead made her look like a giant lemon marshmallow, in my opinion. It was the funniest episode, though. Ayame is my favourite character. Think K with silvery-blue hair and even crazier personality. And gay. *grins in delight* He's so coooool.
Whoa totally long and scary entry. Going now. Now that I am slightly cheerier I can wish everyone at the sleepover a great fun night without feeling jealous - and a huge big WELCOME BACK for Mel!
