*prods friends list*

Taking a leaf out of Xyn's book and doing something to try and get my writing up to speed so that I can work on Quindlemire without getting stuck every few lines.

So - I'm requesting writing challenges for drabbles. Give me a fandom, a pairing, a line, a scenario, a few words... anything you'd like to see me write for you. This is mostly a selfish act on my own behalf to get some practice done, but if you've got any ideas that you'd particularly like to see come to life, then tell me and I'll do the best I can.

I'll write almost anything, but withhold the right to veto suggestions :D

And I'll do one for everyone who comments, so don't hold back. If I choose to ignore my school work and write drabbles, it's my business.

~

Hatred of school has not been rectified by the utterly appalling maths mark I received today. I am, however, much more stable than I was last night. Hugs to Xyn and Maru for their concern.

~

Schule friendsen - I think most of us could do with cheering up. I have procured a large bag of cupcakes and another of mint chocolate for lunchtime tomorrow. If anyone else would like to contribute and bring food for an impromptu party, then do so. Good idea? Yesno?

[identity profile] izumihydra.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
GOOD IDEA BUT ALSO BAD IDEA BECAUSE I WILL BE EVEN MORE FAT BUT SHALL BRING FOOD ANYWAY FOR IMPROMPTU PARTY!!!!
and if you like, you can write me a story on that. :P

Ve know your veaknesses! *cackles*

O.o You sure know how to set a challenge, girl.

[identity profile] woodstock-21.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'll try to bring food!!! And I'll say to your challenge, just write something describing our group. It'll be fine. Or you can be the scribe for our commandments!!!! *smiles*

Or, failing that, you can just write a Subaru/Kamui ficlet for me. ^^

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
*attacks chance of writing Subaru/Kamui*

Angsty or funny or fluffy?

[identity profile] izumihydra.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
what can i say. ^_^ i like to make people struggle.

Evil child *pouts*

Oh yeah, there was a question in my last email - do I get a reply tonight?

[identity profile] izumihydra.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
NO FOR THE PAIN OF ORALS AND LACK OF VISUAL FOCI!!!
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
*blinks*

Foci. Goodo then.

*pats sympathetically and inches away*

[identity profile] izumihydra.livejournal.com 2004-03-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
foci, you know, plural of focus? isn't it?
*hopes to be grammatically correct*

and as pain has now concluded, thou shalt be email endowed. but not yet.

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-24 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I did get the pluarality, yes ^^ Your vehemence startled me into making neutral comments.

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
BRILLIANT CHILD! that is exactly what i need after my oral slogging gabbling humilation, and you are WONDERFUL X 1000000000000 to think of it! tegan's comments also apply, but hell. we need it.

and if you are feeling especially like the loveliest creature ever, you could write me a tiny cute bit of hitchhikers slash, because that's what my barren, starving, serious-history-filled-thoughts brain* tells me it needs at the moment.

* DOES NOT INCLUDE MONK-ON-A-STICK

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Are you okay? Or has your sanity taken a very long walk off a really short pier?

Also, I both second Eugenie's request and add my own for Crawford/Schuldich.

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
reduced to reading SHERLOCK HOLMES FIC FOR GOD'S SAKE.

...as i was last time this year, when i was writing a history oral on donatello. disturbing realisation. 'and we were like - what's up with that!?'

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, poor baby. *hug* But Sherlock Holmes' fic can't be SO bad. I mean, they ARE very gay.

Also, the last sentence just confused me. Oh, wait! Is that a reference to the conversation about Holmes' slash we had a year ago?

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
very gay AND sometimes very well-done angsty AND at just the level of silly victorianness i love.

sorry, i forgot which one was you and which one was ali, and while i know that both of you are each other and individual personalities, i got momentarily confused and if you were newt you'd understand and i can't even remember why we say that to each other ^^;; it's, uh, and expression of my confusion as to why the planets aligned and history myseriously repeated itself once more mrs garden's oral had driven me into the arms of holmes slash for no apparent reason. i'll ring you adn you can tell me when the haga sophia was built and we can have lots of US in-jokes?

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
*snerk* Okay. Though I don't know why my telling you when the Hagia Sophia was built would be particularly interesting. Unless it's for your oral. In which case, 532-537. By Anthemios and Isidorus, if that helps.

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
NOT BY JUSTINIAN?!?!??!?!?! ...ok, i just WON'T make that comparison then. but it's still very useful. hey, what conversation were we having this time last year about holmes slash, by the way?
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I've only just been able to appreciate the joke inherent in that icon *smirks*

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
i've had it for so many months, and now everybody's enlightened and can take joy in it and make snorfings at their computer when they see it and it brings veritable tears to my eyes!
ashen_key: (Default)

[personal profile] ashen_key 2004-03-23 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not enlightened...*pouts*

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2004-03-24 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
And the moral of this story is, read Penny Arcade. Though you will take even MORE joy if you do so after I've converted you to video games.

And penny arcade is here: www.penny-arcade.com

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he ordered it built. But it was built by Anthemios and Isidorus. It had mosaics in it...

Um... I seem to recall walking around the island bench in my kitchen talking about Raphael and how I wanted to hate him but I couldn't because he was so sweet and lovable and everyone loved him... and about how Donatello and Michelangelo were possibly gay and actually gay respectively... and something about ninja turtles, and how ninja turtle slash is both wrong but strangely appealing, and how ninja turtles mary sues are the wrongest things ever, and then we moved onto Holmes' slash, and talked about the Hound of the Baskervilles, and we'd both seen it and slashed it but I'd found fic, so I promised I send you the link.

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
and then i read the fic and its goodness made me overcome any remaining standards i had left and i totally read holmes fic instead of doing work! then i stayed up til 2 am because i hadn't finished my oral.

...things don't appear to have PROGRESSED in any way.

[identity profile] tammaiya.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Hee! Just shows that the more things change the more they stay the same.

Drabbles are on offer? Oooh! Care to write a drabble about two Byzantine Orthodox monks? The Nazgul and I find monks extremely cool, especially Orthodox ones...

You'd have one extremely happy Maru and one extremely happy Nazgul, then...
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
I know NOTHING about Byzantine Orthodoz monks. NOTHING. You may wish to either give me some vague snippet of information or be prepared for a humorous dialogue about chastity.
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, yeah, apart from that...

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
they sat on poles making out? ask zer tegsen, as i think she's spouting 8 minutes worth of monks tomorrow.

[identity profile] izumihydra.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
YES YES YES!!!!
perhaps you should include monk-on-stick in this drabble, as he also lay in a dry river bed until he nearly died, and then had to be dragged forcibly back to the monastery by other monks! THE PERFECT SETTING FOR ROMANCE!!!!!!!!1111111111

[identity profile] sanguia.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
omg liek monk-on-a-stick/emperor-who-let-monk-on-a-stick-run-his-life AKSHUN!!1! such tradgedy!! such forbidden, poley desire!! such RUNNING THROUGH THE NIGHT TO UNFREEZE HIS *LOVE*!
yakalskovich: (Default)

[personal profile] yakalskovich 2004-03-23 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Humourous dialogue about chastity is just as well. As long as it contains two monks of any description at all. I don't have to have Byzantine or Orthodox ones as long as it's a monkfic drabble...

[personal profile] ashen_key 2004-03-23 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Orthadox priests wear black robes down to their ankles. Despite looking somewhat like dresses, most of them manage to pull it off. Strangly.

Norrington. Something with Norrington in it that doesn't show up to be 2-D and evil. Snarky, possesive pirate-hunting Norrington.

Pretty please?

Or else Hitchhiker's slash with Ford/Arthur.

Which ever floats your ship. Or sinks it, or...whatever.
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
I've already done a Hitchhiker's for Eugenie.

Norrington it is.

Yay!

[identity profile] dunkywunky.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
I was thinking of not making a comment because you were already playing with 32 others...but then that would be nice and thats not really me.
I might ask you to write an inventive story about me killing my drama teacher but that might be a little not really what id want something to be written about...

How about a story full of Flowers and Pretty things that make you go awww. OR maybe anything that ends with
"He woke up and it was all a dream" or "And then the nuclear bomb went of and everyone died"
ext_21673: (Default)

[identity profile] fahye.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, I like this challenge.

[identity profile] dunkywunky.livejournal.com 2004-03-23 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
wat really? I can offer a serious one if you were being sarcastic...
ext_21673: (Default)

No no. I like this one.

ok...have fun

Drabble challenge: A scene with Subaru and Kusanagi eating ice cream. *cheshire cat grin*

And I'm glad things have calmed for you. *hugs back*

*goes off to figure out what the hell to write for Arashi and Kanoe*

I'd ask for something about Advanced Placement Fanfiction, but I think I'll try to rope one of the other Americans into that.
So, your challenge is: Pirates of the Caribbean/Discworld. Not the way it's going in the RPage. Preferably with Jack Sparrow in there somewhere.

"And I on the opposite shore will be."

Because I am a dork and that poem's been running through my head a~ll day.

[identity profile] ryokophoenix.livejournal.com 2004-03-24 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ohoh, if you're still taking requests! I was kinda history-oraly and didn't get on LJ much. >.<
Ummm...if you like...
DomxBilly, set at BOBW23. Must involve the pool, Craig, the Time Warp, one insane fangirl, and end with the words "their feet lifted off the ground." In an IMAGINATIVE way.
Challenge enough for ya? Feel free to back out while you still can! XD
Oh, and one of Lady Phoenix's cats, in a cameo.
MWAH.
*giggles insanely*
