eye of the storm

*blinks* Amazing. A slight reprieve from assessment hell. No homework to do, except an english oral of which the entire outline is done and which isn't due until a week after I thought it was. And an english inclass on Monday which I'm not sure I can be bothered to study much for. I'll finish highlighting the Middle English sheets and read some Chaucer and Beowulf and discuss things with Phoebe when I go over there, I suppose...

Also NYSF report. Which I am repressing in the hope it will disappear.

And a cosplay costume that really needs to be finished.

Planning to spend the weekend cleaning, at Phoebe's helping clean out the spare room and watching movies (moving out in 9 months, w00t!), and hopefully getting some writing done. 2K more words on DNS and I'll have a Chapter One. Which is sort of pathetic considering how much time I've had the document sitting there, but if I'm churning out 6K chapters then it's going to take me a while >.<

Ten CD’s I can’t live without:
1) Gravitation soundtrack
2) Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
3) Fallen - Evanescence
4) Mad Season - Matchbox 20
5) Spirit soundtrack - Bryan Adams
6) El Dorado soundtrack - Elton John
7) Buffy soundtrack(s)
8) [livejournal.com profile] tammaiya's Angel CDs
9) In Blue - The Corrs
10) Moulin Rouge soundtrack

Nine random things about me:
1) I have kissed exactly two people.
2) I had black hair for the first three years of my life.
3) I have been to 13 countries excluding Australia.
4) I mentally choreograph dances to almost every song I hear.
5) I haven't cried in public since the very end of Year 6 and haven't cried in private since the beginning of Year 9.
6) The only movie that has ever made me cry was Dot and the Kangaroo, in kindergarten. The only other movie that has come close was The English Patient.
7) I often write things and then have no recollection of writing them when I reread that piece immediately afterwards.
8) The three most beautiful places I have visited are the University of Michigan, St Peter's Basilica in Rome, and Sydney Harbour at night.
9) I cannot stand the taste of spearmint or Milo.

Eight things running through my head right now:
1) I need to be in Woden at 7pm tonight to meet NYSF friends for dinner, and I'm wondering if I can scam money off my dad to pay for it.
2) Whether I can get away with wearing my corset, a kneelength skirt and my kneehigh boots to my graduation dinner.
3) This is the third time I've listened to 'Deliver Us' today, and I still adore it.
4) Chidder and Imp are gonna have a scary scary argument and I'm not sure how Chidder's going to explain kissing Ade without giving away the fact that he's in love with Teppic.
5) I should plait my hair when wet and let it dry wavy more often.
6) I can never come up with an original idea.
7) I want to get drunk very, very badly, because the idea of letting down a self-control that's been rigid for years sounds awfully appealing.
8) How utterly sick of school I am and how much I want to be at uni.

Seven places I’d like to go:
1) Rome again
2) Venice
3) San Francisco
4) Egypt
5) The Queensland theme parks
6) To America to see Xyn
7) Sydney, more often

Six things I believe:
1) In the existence of love but not its omnipotency
2) There is life on other planets
3) That music is the best thing man ever created
4) That you shouldn't let other people's expectations alter your own
5) In free speech
6) That there is no reason whatsoever why homosexuals should not be allowed all the rights of heterosexuals

Five things I’d like to do before I die:
1) Live in an apartment on my own
2) Find requited love
3) Get something published
4) Have the prefix "Dr" in front of my name
5) Dye my hair black

Four people who mean the world to me:
I can think of exactly three.

Three things I did as a child:
1) Had a boyfriend for almost three years
2) Was constantly in the middle of at least three books
3) Had an overdeveloped sense of my own importance and intelligence that made me dreadfully bossy and judgemental.

Two of my faults:
1) I have a huge range of emotional issues based around the fact that many years ago I took the wrong role models and convinced myself that showing weakness was bad.
2) I procrastinate like hell.

One thing about my future:
1) There aren't going to be children in it, but I plan to be a wonderful eccentric aunt to Rob and Lauren's.

*raises eyebrow at pushy tink*
I kissed my boyfriend in Year 3 and another guy during a game of spin-the-bottle the summer before Year 10.

Dot and the kangaroo? Uh... I think it's about a little girl who gets lost in the bush, and a kangaroo finds her and she learns to communicate with the animals and tries to find her way back home - and the kangaroo helps her escape from a bushfire and stuff. It sounds silly but I loved the book as a child, it was very intelligent for a kid's book.

Fern Gully is the one with the fairies and the annoying American guy who gets shrunk and Robin Williams being a lab bat. And it has cool songs.

>>4) Chidder and Imp are gonna have a scary scary argument and I'm not sure how Chidder's going to explain kissing Ade without giving away the fact that he's in love with Teppic.<<

I'm posting all the little fiddly bits for doing exactly that in the Stone Inn to the community journal right now. The time line might end up being a bit steep for all of us, because of that midnight's not a time, it's a place thing.

I have written half a manual after the probs you reported. It is here:
http://www.livejournal.com/community/discworld_rpg/40506.html

I can be used for more loggage in the future, I hope.

There will be fun and mayhem and angst and all sorts of chaos. I hope everything will end up sorting itself right, like "A Midsummer Night's Dream", but there are so many ways it can go wahooni-shaped, content-wise.

To America to see Xyn

Aww! That was totally MY warm fuzzy for the day. And if you can't make it over here, I'll find a way to make it over there. *is determined*

*hugs!*

*hugs* Dude, of course I want to see you! And these infamous granola bars, too. Last time I was in the US I tried Three Musketeers Bars and some disgusting-tasting cinnamon TicTacs and that's about it.

3) San Francisco

Hey, manage it and I'll see you there.
