hatred makes for bad deja vu

Just watched Bowling for Columbine for the second time, and love Michael Moore even more... him and Peter Jackson, I swear... what it is with these little fat men with their curly hair and baseball caps and their ability to make absolutely amazing films? There must be a machine somewhere that churns them out. Joss Whedon, too.

Hate Charlton Keston so much. So, so much. Managed to talk my mother into respecting Marilyn Manson and also explained to her about the discriminatory American high school sporting culture, blah blah... We ranted together for a while, and she is very proud of the fact that she has managed to raise two little cynical activists (me and my brother).

This is kinda like my post LAST time I saw this movie, huh? Let's change it a bit. Dad and brother out camping this weekend so we had a girlie day and went shopping and bought part of my skating costume at Tree of Life :D Very pretty.

I could also rant for a while about Tink's Halloween party which was the coolest thing I have, like, EV-ER attended *puts on bimbo voice*. I want to see those pictures, Mel. Suffice it to say there was crazy dancing and far too much food and glorious punpkin pie and hauntingly beautiful Nightmare Before Christmas and some cool Buffyness and a great pinata and the fun of applying way, way too much eye makeup. I'll be reliving that one for a while.

Also heard "Captain Jack" and am now on DDR download spree. Hurrah.

Warning for long and possibly irrational rant:

...George Bush, after the STUNNING success of Marriage Bloody Protection Week, and as the next step in his plan to drag the world back into the Middle Ages, has decided to declare an Anti-Pornography Week.

What IS this thing the American government has with sex? No, really. Clinton was impeached because he had an affair. In Australia it would make headlines for a while and then be buried, but in America... And homosexuals are obviously wrong, let's discriminate against them for a while... Oh, quick, pick something else or they'll notice that we're a bunch of corrupt trigger-happy bigots... um, pornography! Yeah! Let's fight an entirely losing battle and try and ban IT!

Good luck to ya, Georgie B. I'm sure the millions of American males over the age of 15 would be ALL TOO HAPPY to give up their porn [/sarcasm], even if they own guns and discriminate against gays. Is this man even LIVING in the same world as us?

Obviously not. He prefers the patriarchal, violence-dominated society of a few centuries ago, and with his attempts to suppress all forms of open sexuality and tolerance is clearly determined to drag the rest of us back there with him, complete with Church and State becoming a single, tyrannical entity. For a regime so opposed to sexuality, they sure seem to enjoy pulling it out into the open and waving it around like the Iraqi flag, in the hopes that someone will burn it for them.

I thank any deity that may be listening that there are sane, rational and tolerant Americans out there, and I'm sure large numbers of them fall in that category. Ones that are trying to get behind the intolerant face of their government and digging at the real questions. Maybe I'm a naive, teenage white girl living in a safe little country, but I thought that the purpose of a government was to address issues that concern the people? Environmental deterioration. Health care. Education. Those parts of the economy NOT connected to the Dow Jones or the price of fucking oil. Human rights. Immigration. Poverty. Unemployment. Religious equality.

And the most powerful man on earth gets up on his little high horse and puts on his tarnished halo that he's borrowed from the Pope and tells us that the real enemies are the homosexuals and the porn producers. That's what we should be worried about, people.

Oh yeah, and kids with guns, you know. All that rock music. Dangerous stuff. And if we cancel that Marilyn Manson concert we can hire the convention centre out to the NRA instead...

...seems like I've finally found someone I can hate.

Um, wasn't he going to be impeached not because of the affair, but because that he lied? ("I did nawt hayv sex-shew-al relayshuns with thayt wowmun. >:(!!")

I'm still trying to figure out how pornography hurts children. What, they're choked to death by the tape whilst their parents are teaching them the basics of autoasphyxiation?

o.o;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Well, yeah, I guess so. But how many times has Johnny lied to us? And he's still in power.
Come to think of it, that's probably something wrong with Australia...

Your smileys scare me. What is that one doing?

that's it. i vote FREYA for president. *waves flag*
Anti-pornography week? what a waste of time. whether you like it or not, it's not your place to tell other people what they can and can't view. it doesn' affect HIS life whether or not millions of american men drool over naked internet-women. i shall hate him with you. we shall GLARE at his monkey face and one day we shall rule the world.
What's GB's problem with porn anyway? is that destroying traditional family values too? because before he sends us all back the victorian age, maybe hje should take note of the fact that in 1870 there were 80,000 prostitutes in London. with a total 2 milion clients a week. but i'm sure that's FAR less harmful than porn.
let's become activists.

^^; I'm holding firmly to the "if he's voted in next election, it's rigged, and I'm going to kill the lot of them" school of thought.

That one? It's...testing an obscure new drug, that supposedly prevents...something equally obscure...but simply results in lots of...I'm not going anywhere with this, really. It made sense at the time?
