want sleep. must study. <-- my life

It was FOUR DEGREES today. I had plans to make chicken burgers for dinner, but in the short trip from the car to the supermarket my fingers went numb and I knew that I needed LAKSA, because there is nothing better than laksa in winter.

I'm not sure if I entirely approve of the paste I bought, but god knows I am not hardcore enough to make my own laksa paste. Maybe one day. Maybe one day that has not been spent at the hospital and left my brain feeling like jelly.

Laaaaaaksa.

In other news, absolutely everything about these Lackadaisy Q&A fill me with glee. MITZI AND ZIB. BABY MORDECAI.

It was the same sort of day here. I made pad Thai. Considering how much of Asia is tropical, Asian food really is ideal for this weather.

I see we're just following each other around the internet today.

I would like to learn! Though I need one of those nifty little food processors that they use on MasterChef, or a mortar and pestle, or SOMETHING.

Do you have any recipes that you would recommend in particular?

Ooh. I can never find fresh enough rice noodles for pad thai here in Orange, but maybe I should try it in Canberra when I'm next there. Do you have a good recipe?

No, I just used a paste, fresh veggies and lots of lime. And tofu.

I use a mortar and pestle! it is the best!

If you want to make it vegan I recommend my own (http://veganabouttown.blogspot.com/2008/11/curry-mee-or-curry-laksa.html); otherwise I recommend any of the pastes in these recipes at kuali.com (http://kuali.com/recipes/search.aspx?q=laksa&cu=&mt=&td=&oc=&cm=&ing=&p=1). kuali.com is where I find all the awesome Malaysian recipes.
