HELP

I've been in a bad mood for almost a week running, now. This is no fun at all. I've been rummaging through everything marked as pie.fic on my delicious. I've been treating myself to afternoons sitting in cafes with coffee & a notebook. I've read D: like twenty billion times. I've been watching Scrubs. I'm listening to Vienna Teng! I should be relaxed and chirpy.

I miss Ji. Grumble grumble grumble.

OKAY GUYS. PITCH IN PLEASE. Hit me with your most ridiculous macros or your failsafe unabashedly cheesy and hilarious (or deep and emotional. whatever.) fic recs, or just capslock at me for a while about things that make you happy. I'm going to drag myself through this paper on insomnia and I could use the distractions to keep me from drowning in tedium and grumpiness.

Have you read the Jim Kirk speaks LOLcat (http://community.livejournal.com/st_xi_kink/5912.html?thread=14406680#t14406680) fic? 'Tis a wonderful fic in which he says things like NO THEY BE STEALING MAI COMMAND, and is sure to cure anything that ails you.

I am 15,500 words into an original fiction project and I know for a FACT that the first 525 words do not suck because Becca and Gen said so! (That is all I have let anyone see so far.)

It's really making me happy to make REAL PROGRESS on something I TOTALLY MADE UP.

I read The Blood-and-Thunder Adventure on Hurricane Peak on your rec the other day! I will be reviewing it properly tomorrow but for now I will just say it is made of hilarious and adorable, Margaret Mahy ftw!

This is my brain; this is my brain on CRACK.
(The purely fandom kind, natch.)

Some of my Dr. Horrible things that make me smile:
poker night at the Henchmen's Union
Doc accidentally transports Belle and Gaston to Los Angeles; hijinks ensue
the mildly-epic Iron Man crossover

And then there's Declaration of Interdependence by [livejournal.com profile] ubiquirk. Because Evil League of Evil backstory is awesome.

Granted, I have no idea if this will actually help, but it's late and it's all I can think of. So. Happymaking will hopefully ensue?

this dance move (http://is.gd/1G6Ze) made me laugh quite a bit. granted, it was 4am. (i hope this video will play for you...)

I really enjoy the funny old man doing the cardiac arrhythmia dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvWzm7ICzhw), to be honest.

Also, you could stream some episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place. (http://www.surfthechannel.com/show/2527.html) It's not, like, "quality" per se, but it's mindless and cute and Selena Gomez has the most expressive cute face EVER EVER.

Also also, I present my observations from watching Trek again, namely: Kirk gets into upwards of fifty fights in the movie. He wins FIVE. Fights he wins:

1) OH MY GOD IT'S NERO WE HAVE TO PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. Winning tool: LOGIC.
2) The Kobayashi Maru. Winning tool: CHEATING.
3) OH MY GOD SCOTTY'S DROWNING IN A PIPE. Winning tool: LOGIC.
4) Spock, you are emotionally compromised! Winning tool: LOSING.
5) He shoots a bunch of Romulans, so, winning tool, FINE, violence.

Fights he doesn't win include getting into Starfleet, getting on the Enterprise, keeping the moral high ground with Nero at the end, remembering that IT'S A FUCKING BLACK HOLE (Scotty wins that one), and every physical altercation he gets in over the course of the movie.

He doesn't believe in no-win situations because OTHER PEOPLE ALWAYS WIN FOR HIM.

James Tiberius Kirk, Action Loser!

I get to weaponize coffee grounds on the FIRST PAGE. Oh, and there may possibly be a museum heist involved.

Actually, I'm working on that today, because my plotting so far has just been writing really fast and I think last night I wrote off the cliff, so I have to figure out the edge of plot before I plummet, Road Runner-style, to the depths.

-Okay, so Inner Universe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXQLgESzvnM) by Origa and Yoko Kanno is easily in my top five favorite songs ever. It's like-- if someone took what it'd feel like to fly, and put it to music.

-I also love live videos of Andrew Bird (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFmfncE-jD0) because of how freakin' happy he always looks, and how much he's clearly enjoying doing exactly what he's best at.

Since you are on a HP kick: May Contain Nuts (http://community.livejournal.com/hp_springsmut/28004.html). It is a Harry/George fic, which seems a bit WTF, but the author is HILARIOUS and the OCs in this are WONDERFUL. I can't imagine anything better for a cheer-up read.

Um, I am examining my [livejournal.com profile] cliche_bingo card and having a giggly time deciding which fandom to do a hooker AU in. I've decided that my free space will be, of course, the Merlin high school AU. Which I should dig up my notes for. *coughs*

ETA: Oh, and according to the forums on yessaid.com, Tori Amos is planning an Australia tour starting in November! So there's that. :D
