just because ideas are tenacious

It's ANZAC Day and I have no biscuits ;_; If I had access to an oven I would be happily covered in flour and making my first-year housemate's recipe, which makes incredibly thick and chewy bikkies, just the way I prefer them.

Instead of biscuits I have...um...homework. YAY.

In the meantime, some things that have distracted me gloriously this week:

1) Goodbye Chains, which is a webcomic about gay anarchist cowboys. Sort of. I am spared having to make a proper pimping post because Emma has one here, but suffice it to say that I read all the archive in one sitting and wish there had been five times as much of it. IT'S GLORIOUS. (It also has superhero dream sequences, if you're confused about the lack of cowboys on the most recent page.)

2) [livejournal.com profile] dr_biscuit introduced me to Tim Minchin, and although I haven't watched many of his videos yet, I want you all to listen to Drinking White Wine in the Sun, which is about the Christmas Day of a secular Australian and is basically brilliant because it's everything I could ever want to express about my own experiences.

3) Bones. BONES <33333 I. I just. I will never regret the day when Booth/Brennan overtook Kara/Lee as my #1 OTP. I'm currently trying to decide if my epic romance fic is worth finishing as a rush job or if I should just post the snippets I've written and then wash my hands of it for good.

Hey! Just comment to let you know I've just friended you. I hope that's ok. I read your HB fic a few days ago, and I have to say I'm deeply in love with it. I've re-read it more than 3 times in the past 3 days, which is kindda embarrassing considering the fact I really ought to be writing my essays.
BTW, we go to the same uni. Yay! so you'd probably guess my life is rather miserable atm (though doing Arts should be a lot easier than doing medicine). I totally empathize your uni-related angst.
Anyway, happy Anzac day!

That song is awesome. Thank you for linking to it! It's kinda perfect, really, even if mine tends to be red wine in the sun. Or sometimes the rain.

My last Christmas was actually spent in England, but 'drinking white wine in the sun' is EXACTLY how I spent Xmas '07 :)

Dang, Goodbye Chains is like a whole STACK of awesome (although I think I preferred it drawn by the first artist), but I always forget to check it and wind up going back to it and being like HOT DIGGITY THERE ARE LIKE TWENTY MORE PAGES THAN THE LAST TIME I WAS HERE!

This is a good approach to webcomics, I think.

Also, you know [livejournal.com profile] dr_biscuit? I love how all my friends know each other...:)

I think she might have found me on the LJ of [livejournal.com profile] foreverdirt! I love that I am getting to know so many smart England-dwellers, it bodes well for my cunning plan to live there one day.
