good things

1) The McCafe next to the hospital having the tiny mint slices for $0.75. HAPPINESS IS CHEAP AND DELICIOUS.

2) I was a bit wary about switching out neuro clinical tutors, but our new one is very efficient and knowledgable and a great teacher. Her specialty is vertigo disorders and she has promised us all a ride on her 360-degree tippy turny frame thing, if we're good. (Medical school = the height of class.)

3) Tonight: dinner in Chinatown followed by WATCHMEN AT THE IMAX. I neglected my notes yesterday in favour of rereading the graphic novel for the sixth time or something so that we can have involved comparative discussions afterwards about the use of iconic images and plot choices and all that good stuff. The only way for me to properly convey just how excited I am about this movie would be a long stretch of incoherent caplock.

4) Speaking of which -- *nods at icon* -- I could probably capslock about Tom Irwin for hours, but instead you can have some of my fic. Which would be finished a lot faster if I hadn't managed to get it all tangled up with some stuff I've been meaning to say about Auden.

Scripps groaned. "Don't make me start listing reasons, Dakin; you won't listen to them anyway, and that's not why you called."

"No? Why'd I call, then?"

"To gloat," Scripps said, "as per fucking usual. Though I really think you should just let it go, you obsessive wanker. That stuff, it's all in the past. It's history now."

"Yeah," said Dakin. "Exactly."

Have I mentioned how much I adore Scripps. Hint: it's a LOT.
