update on the Europe 08-09 trip

ALL RIGHT, BRITAIN.

I know some of you put your hands up and waved them vaguely around earlier, but PLEASE COMMENT HERE anyway. Seeing as [livejournal.com profile] ryokophoenix and I will very likely be in the UK from December 16th or so until the end of the month:

WHO would like to see us?

WHERE will you be (or where can you get to)?

WHEN in December are you free?

If all goes well then we'll be using my aunt's house in Birmingham as a base until Christmas, and staying in her flat in London between Boxing Day and January 2nd (so for Londoners: I don't need anywhere to stay, but would love to meet up with you, and if you know of anywhere good to be for New Year's, let me know!).

([livejournal.com profile] copinggoggles, I am unwise in the ways of transport -- what's the cheapest way to visit you? We only have a week do do ALL OF BRITAIN THAT IS NOT LONDON so, uh, we'll be picking and choosing. If you know of somewhere that is awesome in winter, we could MEET YOU THERE :D)

Also: anyone anywhere else in Europe that I've forgotten? *peers*

I'll see you in London?

Can get to London with ease, and would love to meet up! I'm not sure who else is around at the time, but there's usually a few millibrits about, at least.

Dublin is awesome! But, you know, also takes a significant chunk out of that Week Of Britain, in terms of extra airport/ferry times, etc. You could do it in a day - flying over early and flying back late, or whatever - but I daresay it would leave you pretty wiped out, especially if you are trying to cram in as much as possible.1

Fares are usually Pretty Darn Cheap, though, whether by plane or ferry (although I imagine there'll probably be a bit of a spike around that time of year, but whatever). So if you already have a set-list of awesome places you want to see, I can totally meet you there for a day or two. I love Oxford London awesome places!

But the most important thing in this comment: HOW ARE YOU NOT GOING TO EDINBURGH FOR HOGMANAY LSKJFLASJFS;DFKJA.

1The one thing I can think of that might work better, without taking a chunk out of your Week Of Britain, is flying over on the last day of said week, staying the night, and then flying back to Heathrow or Gatwick the next morning to start your London Hijinks. BUT, according to your current schedule, that is, you know. Christmas. So maybe not.

ME! I will probably be in London. I will be free evenings and weekends. I am a nice person and everything Nny tells you about me is dirty lies. Unless it's good. Then it's true.

That sounds excellent! The more people we can meet in one place, the better.
