braaaaaaains

Pathetic story: I need to look up a very brief note about stress as a risk factor for breast cancer for my PBL group, but I was overcome by blissful nostalgia in the health psychology aisle of the medical library and ended up borrowing something called Human Behaviour: An Introduction For Medical Students as a BRIBE to myself. I got through half of my immunology notes tonight and so let myself start reading the chapter on psychoanalytical theory. (It should perhaps also be noted at this point that the other book I currently have out from the library is a history of western psychiatric practice.)

Um...clearly I miss psych rather more than I'd anticipated!

I haven't really studied enough to satisfy my inner perfectionist, but my brain is threatening to implode if I subject it to any more notes on the mechanisms of adaptive humoral immunity, so...maybe I'll try to write something. Unfortunately, the only one of my many pressing stories that seems to want to cooperate is the one for a book that nobody else has ever read, apparently.

Timothy wakes up from a dream in which the god Pan has opened his mouth and spoken in his uncle's voice: education is a mosaic of beauty.

(Why, yes, that WAS an invitation for anyone recognising the canon to leap up and down where I can see you!)
