*calms down*

Now that my wireless connection has stopped inexplicably failing to load any site associated with Livejournal (seriously, what the hell) I am feeling much more pleased about my fortnight of mid-semester break. I spent the time sullenly mainlining the first season and a half of Spooks, and I now adore Keeley Hawes even more than I did before. I think I need to rewatch Macbeth, in order to better appreciate the parts where she and James McAvoy make out a lot and talk about killing people. And then The Knight's Tale, in order to better appreciate the parts where she and Chiwitel Ejiofor...make out a lot...

More people should watch The Canterbury Tales. Do you need a cast list? James Nesbitt, Billie Piper, Indira Varma, Bill Nighy, Jonny Lee Miller, John Simm, Samantha Bond, Julie Walters...it's like ALL OF BRITISH TELEVISION decided to get together and throw a Chaucer-themed party! There is NO BAD HERE!

Also, I refuse to believe that only two of you are able to name your three favourite songs. No biscuit.

I will have to go song hunting, I'm afraid, my favs are hard to find.

Although! Just on the subject of music, like Dead Can Dance at all?

I do! Good background music for writing.

And...your icon wins everything.

If one was perhaps deeply intrigued by The Canterbury Tales, how might one go about finding them in a watchable way?

I have no clue, I pestered my family and got the DVDs for Christmas last year. If they've been shown on a BBC channel in the States you might be able to find them on DVD somewhere? I don't know of any more piratical sources, though.

Dude, favorite songs?! I couldn't give you a top three of musicians, let alone songs, let alone a definitive list! I'm actually kinda.....not horrified, but really really stumped at the idea that anyone can do that. To the point where I can't even listen to them, because favorite?! I just....don't have it in me.

Next you'll be asking for top three favorite books! Insanity!

... there's a Canterbury Tales movie adaptation? Why did nobody tell me? Is there a DVD? O.o

I am perfectly incapable of deciding for just three favourite songs. Not if it's supposed to be my favourite songs of all time. >_>

Okay, admittedly I couldn't do three favourite books.

It's a very loose adaptation :D It's a series of made-for-TV films set in modern Britain, but loosely following the stories of the Tales. Very good fun.

Sounds like it. Now, how do I get these? *pokes customs*

Amazon? (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canterbury-Tales-Julie-Walters/dp/B00064672U/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/203-4737014-1102343?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1188733523&sr=8-2)

Yeah, the problem still being customs. It's almost cheaper (and a lot more fun!) to fly to England to buy it there than to order it in England and picking it at customs...
