I think I'm in the right profession

This morning I got to hold a human brain. It was the most fucking awesome thing that has ever happened to me. Two and a half years of learning how it works and what the lobes are called and how signals are propogated in the cells, and today I got to hold one. And poke the cerebellum. And trace the lateral fissure. And also play with the spinal cord, which is an extremely cool-looking thing indeed.

[livejournal.com profile] setissma and [livejournal.com profile] schiarire and anyone else I'm meant to be talking to: give me an hour to make lunch and wash my hair, yeah?

I can't decide whether or not I'm jealous, but either way, that's pretty awesome.

Wash your hands before you make lunch! You don't want to inadvertantly zombify yourself.

*SQUEE*

Damn but you really do have the coolest life.

I felt no urges to eat the brain! I consider that a good sign.

At the moment I'd have to agree with you. Anatomy is fantastic.

Ah. Brains. I can't handle brains. Brains and eyes.

*shudders*

However. GOOD FOR YOU.

Isn't it the coolest thing? I loved my neuroanatomy lab, seeing how all the parts fit together and where they actually were in relation to each other, instead of just knowing how they connected as abstract.

I still cannot get over how little the spine is, man. The cauda equina is so cool.

The cauda equina, dude, yes! That was amazing.

:D

I... had pictures taken of my brain this morning?

No, actually not nearly as cool. Tooooouch.

Friend of mine was taking an anatomy class for her art degree a few months ago so it's interesting to see the differences (like, you get to PLAY WITH BRAINS whereas she only got to POKE CORPSES). I am of course insanely jealous of you both.

I miss you, you workaholic, you! :*
