Doctor Who 3x12 - The Sound of Drums
I don't have anything more profound to say than OMG JOHN SIMM, really, although I will note that this episode managed to spark off a surprising number of fic ideas in my head.
(Well. This episode and
jezrana. Comedic yaks!!!)
HOWEVER, I have three more papers to mark and then I plan to spend the evening working on my
ds_shakespeare assignment, which was meant to be
brynnmck's birthday present. And maybe those one-sentence fics. And then maybe I will rewatch That Thing and start That Fic for
bantha_fodder's birthday. (Have I mentioned that I love holidays? I LOVE HOLIDAYS. I am going to write so much.)
*carefully tucks long, complex fic bunny about Lucy and Saxon away for another time*
ETA:
My favourite moment in the entire episode was when the MUSIC STARTED and Lucy started dancing on the spot. I don't know. Something about that great, pulsing shot of the TARDIS-converted-to- paradox machinesound system w/subwoofers that can split the fabric of space and time. And Lucy's own brand of bizarre moral disinterest combined with total devotion to the Master and the way they have all these secret, elitist jokes (JELLYBABIES) and there was RANDOM MUSIC and she started DANCING TO IT. I love her. I think she's probably doomed as all getout, but I love her and I am going to write an epic fic about her.
What is it with my favourite skiffy shows and the strategic use of weirdly diegetic music in the finales, huh?
