Boofehteh Boofeh (as my brother calls it)
Hurrah for Joss. Spike is cheering me up somewhat. He is so pathetically inept in matters of lurve. And the coat. Gawd, I will never get over that coat.
Xander: Or you could fight...
Spike: Yes, but I'm frozen to the spot with not-caring.
Have learned something that has made me given up on ever converting Maddy. This happened in maths:
Helena: Are those two guys kissing? *yes, they were looking through my diary. the two in question were tsuzuki and hisoka*
Maddy: That one's a GIRL, silly.
Me: Ah, no. They're guys.
Helena: *laughs*
Maddy: Um... then why are they kissing?
Me: Um. Because they're gay.
Maddy: Oh.
Me: In the actual anime them being together is just implied but I think this is fanart by someone who WANTS them to be together...
Maddy: But why would they WANT them to be gay??
Me: Why not?
Maddy: Because it's wrong!
Me: How can you say that! That's really narrow-minded!
Maddy: It's unnatural. God didn't create people to be gay.
Me: ... *not sure what to say to THAT. cross round her neck suddenly looks very large indeed. suddenly glad pentacle around mine is hidden*
Maddy: Gay people can't reproduce, and people were made to reproduce. *notices me looking slightly offended* It's true!
Me: Ok then! *changes subject*
*feels odd* Not sure what to think. I like Maddy. But I didn't know she was THIS Christian and... arg. Help. Bad.
Helena, though, loves Inuyasha, owns all of CCS in Korean and approves of animeness in general. Next time she goes to Korea I may ask her to get stuff for me.
I'm feeling very reality-detatched. I need to go and lose myself in a fantasy life where I can forget real things like chocolate cravings and pain and crazy religious friends. Why aren't there any handy, dammit?

i don't believe maddy could be so... homophobic. and what kind of a defence is "humans were made to reproduce?" that's like refusing to get on an aeroplane because "humans weren't meant to fly"
i don't think you can blame her religion for that either. most christians accept homosexuality these days.
ye gods
and that's my opinion. but i just wish people could have actual proper arguements for something they believe, not just 'god said it in the bible.' when they haven't even considered at all that some of the bible (e.g slavery, murder as punishment, etc.) isn't even relevant to our society anymore. so why would homophobia be? and besides, doesn't jesus like contradict a lot of stuff in the old testament anyway, with the whole 'love everyone' thing? (if you want me to talk articulately, give me a dictionary) or has 3 years of only vaguely attention in religion taughts me wrong?

my respect for maddie has almost completely disappeared.

1) we were in maths. this was a sort of subdued conversation.
2) I do acknowledge the fact that she has a right to her own views, however much I may disagree with them
3) she's my friend. I don't wanna have a big row with her over this. i talk to her little enough these days as it is.
but yeah, i was surprised.

i had no idea that maddie was such a homophobic little bitch.

Yes. I agree that that kind of attitude is immature and incomprehensible to me. But I know how awful it is to have your religion mocked and if she's going to be homophobic purely because that's what her religion teaches her than it's her problem.

Um, I'll stop ranting now. ^ ^;
