BSG 3x14 - The Woman King

- Basically there was no way I wasn't going to like this episode at least a little, because it was about PUBLIC HEALTH and EPIDEMICS and MEDICAL MORALITY.

- The scene with head!Gaius and Caprica made me SO HAPPY. I thought they'd forgotten him. And I hope they've shaved James Callis for good. I also liked the symmetry of Caprica wanting to be human, when Gaius spent most of last episode wanting to be a Cylon - it's fairly anvilicious, as symmetry goes, but I approve anyway.

- Marge? MARGE? *blocks from memory* Racetrack in civvies was gorgeous, even if she will always be nothing but Meg to me.

- Starbuck was happy & sarcastic and Lee was LEE and the pilots were buddyish and I actually found Sharon not at all annoying in this episode! Hello again, characters I know and love!

- TOM MOTHERFUCKING ZAREK! *pines* It was great to see you again, Tom. Please come back. It was also great that the setup for the trial is being started early. BSG has not entirely forgotten the concept of a plot arc.

I liked it too, although the sight of RIGHTEOUS!ANGRY!HELO got old.

It's funny, though. I was half-worried the doctor would turn out to be mizundazstood, but then I remembered that it is BSG and he is clearly a genocidal maniac.

=))

*SCROLLS WILLFULLY PAST SPOILERS*

IS IT LIKE THE IRON AND WINE SONG?

IS IT???

IS IT HALF AS SEXY AND DARK????

BECAUSE IF SO, I WILL HOP BACK ON THE BSG BANDWAGON WITH ALL THE FORCE OF MY LOVE FOR SAM BEAM!

At least he was making a vague sort of sense near the end. It wasn't OMG RACIST HATRED!!1! but a sliiightly more justified spiel about saving medicine for those who will benefit from it, putting sick people out of their misery, etc.

And no matter how much I would have liked it to end differently, I think Helo kind of needed a win.

I HAVE NO IDEA.

Dark? Well, it tries.

Sexy? HELL YES. Racetrack has her hair down! Helo wanders around shirtless! Lee actually smiles! Grace Park emotes! TOM ZAREK SEXES UP A SUIT AND TIE! Sex for everyone.

I was thinking of a different song, in fact . . . if there actually were an episode with the title/theme of the song I am thinking of, I would be there like a shot. I.e.:

Hey man
Evening on the ground
And there is no one else around
So you will
Blame me

Blame me for the rocks and baby bones
And broken lock on our
Garden

Garden wall of Eden
Full of spiderbites and all your lovers
We were

We were born to fuck each other
One way or another

But I'll only lie
Down by the waterside at night

Hey man
Tiny baby tears
I will collect a million years
And you can
Blame me

Blame me, I will wear it
In the empty hollow part of my
Garden

Garden wall of Eden in the clamour
As they raise the curtain
You will

You will never make me
Learn to lay beneath the mountain

Because I'll only lie
Down by the waterside at night
