first thoughts on SGA
Today was largely spent at
tammaiya's, discovering Stargate: Atlantis. All vile enablers such as
villainny and
setissma can stop looking smug.
OPINIONS:
- It was so relaxing to just sit back and watch a skiffy show that isn't taking itself all that seriously, and doesn't expect YOU to take it seriously, and doesn't really give a crap about big issues or romance or impressive plot arcs as long as you'll laugh at the witty banter and go ooh at the cool makeup. Plus, stuff blows up with laudable regularity, and the shooting of guns happens practically every episode. Thumbs up.
- Sheppard could probably communicate entirely effectively if you took away all of his features save his eyebrows. And maybe his hair. His hair seems integral to him as a person.
- Ford is really, really cute. Except I keep misreading the actor's name in the opening credits as Rainbow Sun Flecks which, I don't know, sounds like a flavour of icecream. Maybe hallucinogenic icecream. (Though you've got to hand it to a guy who starts an acting career with a name like RAINBOW SUN and doesn't adopt a stage name. I guess it's...memorable?)
- And yes, of course I adore Rodney, though I kind of love Carson too. I could listen to the show's hilariously inaccurate science-babble for hours as long as it was delivered in his Scottish accent.
That's all. Engage me at will for anything less shallow.
