...so, over the past two years I have managed to block from my brain the fact that working a five-hour retail shift is actually KIND OF EXHAUSTING. And this is the first time I've had to do it in heels, albeit low ones.

How I am going to cope with 9:30-5:30, I have NO IDEA.

*collapses, massaging feet*

And my download speed has slowed to a crawl (ie. 3.5kb/s) so I can't get the latest Office or BSG episodes and mumble mumble whinge.

UM I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING but I did a pickup and learned how to page my line manager and reset the register (which is terrifying, omg, you have to count all the money by hand and if there's any variance at all with the register count then you have to DO IT AGAIN and I miscounted by $15.05 the first time through, somehow) and put a billion cards and pieces of gift wrap through the register and stuck to, like, two of the five non-negotiables. One of which was smiling. HAHA. I am so getting my ass fired at the end of January.

You working tomorrow afternoon?

You'll do fine. I've deliberately avoided retail like hippies avoid personal hygiene.

When it get you down just think: money money money.

Tomorrow is monday? I'll be there all day...but I thought you left on the 19th?

YOU WILL GET USED TO IT! :D The register resets aren't bad, at least the register actually adds up the cash value for you! I have to count the change drawer and the reserve every morning by hand. Mghs. Still, if you did a pick up and a page on the first day, you're doing well!

Run, do not walk, for Merrell shoes. They will save you.
