"That’s right." Rose sat up straighter, nodding. "The Gelf were trying to get through and there was this girl, this maid, Gwyneth, and she looked..." She turned her head and met Gwen’s eyes. "Like you. A lot like you, actually."

"Oh," said Gwen, feeling claustrophobic, and then: "Gwyneth?"

There was a long pause.

"Fuck," said Jack, and started to laugh. "Parallel universes, huh?"
