I knew it wouldn't stick, this is just like what happen with euthanasia.

Last night Mum and I decided that Canberra should become its own country. Yes that's as likely as us getting getting civil unions, but you can dream can't you?

you know..
what's stopping a smart lawyer from writing up a binding agreement/contract between two people of the same sex? just do it on a case by case basis so the government could'nt scream 'contriversy!'
it'd be the same legally as a marridge...
all the usual stuff like : power of attourny, love and cherish etc.
once signed, couldn't be overturned...


why hasn't anyone done that?
