I'd offer to drabble for you but your very anonymity makes it difficult to pick a fandom, so I'll just offer my heartfelt gratitude instead :)
Swing tonight was great fun - it's feeling more and more natural to be the following partner, to not have any set steps but to react instantly and fluidly to subtle signals like pressure on the hip, a hand opening out, a tap on the wrist, and to be able to improvise and recognise where a particular move is headed. It's not like any other kind of dance I've done before - twelve years of various disciplines have given me near-instant muscle memory and a good feel for rhythm, but...this is different, new. And that makes it exciting.
And swing!Jake, whose name is not actually Jake but I have to bite my lip to stop myself from calling him that, wore a shirt that said 'Hunting Trip' on it and my mind went FISHING TRIP and I almost burst out laughing.
In the spirit of partner dancing, I am now going to go and watch Strictly Ballroom. (One day I will learn ballroom. And salsa. And rock'n'roll. And everything.)
