BOOKS

PREPARE TO BE WILDLY JEALOUS, OH FLIST OF MINE

[livejournal.com profile] ryokophoenix and I spent a heavenly morning running around the Lifeline book fair. We weren't expecting there to be much left, it being the last day of the fair. We were slightly incredulous at the people standing outside with huuuuge empty bags, in preparation.

Ahahaha. Ha. Ha.

The Poems - John Keats
The Hot Zone - Richard Preston
Tropical Diseases - Robert Desowitz
A Leg To Stand On - Oliver Sacks
Anna Karenina - Leo Tolstoy
Tender Is The Night - F. Scott Fitzgerald
The Great And Secret Show - Clive Barker
Everville - Clive Barker
The Canterbury Tales - Geoffrey Chaucer
Where The Heart Is - Billie Letts
A History Of The World In 10 1/2 Chapters - Julian Barnes
Skinny Legs And All - Tom Robbins
Miss Smilla's Feeling For Snow - Peter Hoeg
Word Of The Day - Guy Noble
Collins English Dictionary (pocket size)
And a calendar of Arabian horses, for my sister.

Total cost?

(*drumrolls*)

$18.50

That's about US$13.

I am so happy I could explode.

Cool you got The Hot Zone. Now you need Virus Hunter for the insiders view on things.

I hope there is still stuff there when I get there (I did my last ever shift a stromlo this morning).

*with a great and noble amount of affection*

I hate you.

MY CANTERBURY TALES IS UM OLDER THAN YOURS! THE WRINKLES GIVE IT CHARACTER!

Man, this is one of those days I wish I had the extra cash to get books. I miss having new books! You know, ones that are YOURS new.

OH, MINE HAS WRINKLES. But not many. I expect yours is indeed the more venerable.

I should never spend money on books EXCEPT at these fairs. Seriously.

Oh, I always bring an empty backpack. For the September one, I shall have to do a post before hand on how to survive it.

Glad you had fun!

Yeah, I don't want to think about how crowded the Friday must have been. Mel and I plan to go on Friday AND Sunday in September, so we can get first pick of the good stuff but also come and get the dirt cheap leftovers as we did today (all fiction was half price!).

I think Saturday is the REALLY busy one. Friday is alright as long as you are in the queue by at least 9:30am. And hmm, that's a good idea. Admittedly, I shall have to have money, but that's what parents are there for.

HA WELL MINE IS IN OLD ENGLISH AND I CAN'T EVEN READ THE FUCKING THING (adds Kenny, for the win :).
