You want proof of how insane a mood I was in when I was taking notes on education from the brick? I got off on a tangent, went and dug up my copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and copied down:

'when spontaneity and individuality and really good original stuff occured in a classroom it was in spite of the instruction, not because of it'

'you were supposed to imitate the teacher in such a way as to convince the teacher you were not imitating, but taking the essence of the instruction and going ahead with it on your own'

And then I had a good think about just how well that would go down if I put it in my essay. If I get hideously bored and/or rebellious I may yet.

I tend to go for Pterry, or Douglas Adams. Eddie Izzard goes down well, too.

I'm not actually meant to be using any sources outside of the course brick and lecture material >.<

I haven't read any Douglas Adams recently enough to be able to pull a handy quote out of my head, worse luck.
